Wow! Just had an amazing lunch. We had the potato stuffed with spicy tomato and aioli, aubergine and goats cheese, mushroom with egg and sauce, pork and potato and a cheese platter. Everything was beautifully presented and flavours perfectly balanced. Unfortunately too late to try the desserts, so going back tomorrow! Dishes are to share. Worth the prices (euro 110 for 5 people including drinks). Staff were polite and helpful, with excellent service skills. Just make sure you book early if you are hoping to have a dinner here as it is small and can be fully booked.

Thank Karen K

We were here today enjoying a late lunch from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. Despite, I suspect, keeping the waiting staff late they were very attentive, helpful and a delight. The food was nothing short of exceptional and a highlight of our tour of Northern Spain so far. The chef and owner surely deserves recognition for his exceptional food and ideas, a Michelin star would be appropriate.

We have had lunch twice here and it is definitely a "must" in Gijón. Dishes to share with a nice appearence and better taste (fritos de bacalao, secreto de gochu astur celta, patatas bravas...). Service is great: nice and very professional waiters. You can have your meal in the dining area or in some of the high tables with stools close to the bar. You won't be dissapointed!

The descriptions on the menu don’t do the dishes justice, our first sharing dish of mushrooms with a poached egg turned out to be a intensely flavoured dish of wild mushrooms in an amazing broth. Another dish that was described as aubergine with goats cheese ended up being this delicious aubergine dish with a layer of caramelised goats cheese on top. This chef is really accomplished and is able to make sublime dishes out of a few simple ingredients, or at least he makes it seem that way. The food here is superb we would definitely book to eat here again when we are in Gijon. Our only two criticisms are firstly, we would have preferred more ambient lighting and secondly, although all the dishes are meant for sharing, you can’t always do that. I don’t eat meat but my partner does so when we ordered a meat dish on the menu we did ask if we could have a smaller portion as we wouldn't be sharing this dish, I don’t know if we were misunderstood but this didn’t happen and we still received a big sharing portion.

This is a must go to restaurant in Gijon. The dishes are served to share.

We chose two starters, the Patatas Bravas which look unlike any we had seen before, they look like small decorated cakes and tasted wonderful. (Pictures can be seen in the photograph galleries).

The second was the house Foie served with Membrillo, apple and vanilla. A superb combination.

For our ‘mains’ we started with Meatballs with slices of Boletus Mushrooms and a sauce made from the mushrooms, the plate was finished with spinach and spinach sauce. This was stunning.

The second was Veal with a rich sauce and served with daikon radish and onion.

We loved the meal and have rarely had such tasty food, a stunning take on tapas dishes which celebrates the best of modern Spanish cooking.

Reservations are advisable.
