Well I've no idea how this place got such great reviews. Location is good but everything else is horrific. Furniture is like for 1970, tiny TV screens without remote control, not very nice toilet, kichen, tiny pillows, uncomfortable mattress, reception lady called me many times to ask if I would be arriving too late, I guess she has stuff to do but I got there around 20hrs so it wasn't that late. She wasn't very nice.
Price were not that cheap, maybe because of the season. I will not stay here again and I won't recommend it.

Our first time in Las Palmas my partner booked this hotel. It couldn't be any more central to the City and surprisingly if you wanted a quiet trip this hotel was nice, surrounded by restaurants and shops we had a lovely view you and just make out the water too.

When we got to the hotel we couldn't get in! and phoned to say we need to book in. The gentleman who let us in couldn't speak much English but he was a lovely bloke and very funny.
The room size was pretty big, nothing special but functional and not expensive. There was no balcony but there are I think 4 sets of big windows which open fully, pretty scary to look down as nothing to stop you falling (we were on the 3rd floor).

Our washing machine kept fusing and wouldn't work (you don't usually see a washing machine in most hotel rooms these days do you?) and the man actually came up and washed and dried our clothes for us, which was really nice. Our shower was working but was leaking so we were given a set of keys to shower in another empty room next to ours, the service here was fantastic as they did everything they could for us.

I think this place would be suited to couples wanting a relatively quiet holiday we didn't see any clubs or anything and we never bumped into any other English people there so brush up on your Spanish!

I stayed here with my mother at the end of January for 7 nights self-catering. We arrived here during the afternoon after about a 45 minute transfer from the airport. We were originally given a double room but after a mix up we were given a twin room which was ok. After 1 night we were given a very nice room on the top floor(8th).
The hotel location is in an excellent place with the beach, city centre, shopping complex and bus station all within a 10 minute walk.
The apartment we stayed in was on the 8th floor which can be reached by a lift or stairs. It had a bedroom and a living room with a beautiful view of the docks and Parque Santa Catalina. The kitchen had the basic requirements which included a fridge, kettle and a toaster while the TV had most of the Spanish freeview channels and radio stations.
There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby which I would recommend the Casa Carmelo, Buenos Aires Grill, Wok el Muelle and the Limerick Bar.
There is a very good transport system with regular buses to other parts of the island especially to Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles, where it cost €6.70 each way. While bus journeys around Las Palmas are about €1.60 per journey.
Overall it was a very enjoyable stay with very friendly and helpful staff in an excellent location with very clean rooms.

Room Tip: The higher floors are a lot quieter with being next to a busy road. As it can be quite noisy during the early hours of the morning.

Very god location near every thing uou need in Las Palmas. Very clean. Comfortable beds. Large rooms with big windows. The kitchen is simple, few utenseld, but fairly enough. The only simpel negative point is that the reseption is closed after the ordinery working houres, except for checking in. Helpful and nice staf. I recomend this hotel.

We stayed here 3 nights over New Year 2013/14, on the 8th floor.

Positives:
+ Location was good (3 blocks from beach, close to restaurants etc).
+ View over park was nice (could see the sunrise).
+ Good value for the dates booked.
+ We god a free late checkout (staff told us that "the room is not needed today, so you can stay as long as you like!")
+ Wifi was free and reception was excellent (the speed was not that good, but good enough).

Negatives:
- Room was only cleaned once during the 3 nights we stayed there.
- The floor was not properly cleaned when we checked in (walking on it barefoot was a bad idea!).
- Room was too cold, and no heating available (~20-21C), though this seems to be a problem in Gran Canaria in general.
- Room and facilities were quite old, but working.
- The guy handling our (late) check-in did not speak a word of English :) Though it worked out anyway.

Unlike other reviewers, we did not have a problem with hot water running out, or too much noise from the park. We stayed at the 8th floor though, so that might have helped with the noise (on new year's eve we could hear music until maybe 5am, but it was still possible to sleep so it wasn't a problem).
