This lives up to its 4/5* rating. There is always room for improvement though, and particularly they should serve hotter food - we were told the Spanish don't like hot food!! All the Brits complained about it, also cold plates, but this was addressed by supplying a cabinet with very hot serving plates in. We also heard about a young boy, having spread cream over his sweet, then licked the top of the can and put it back on the side. Children ought to be supervised more in the restaurant. There are two bars, one on the reception floor and the other a long walk to where the outside pool is. In hot weather this is the only bar open, which means it is a distinct disadvantage (especially for disabled people) having to walk up and down steps and having a long walk across. Rooms are comfortable with a nice en suite and the cleanliness is excellent. Corridor floors are all carpeted which cuts down the noise considerably. And all the staff are friendly and helpful. It is in a "flatter" part of Puerto de la Cruz, with many shops, restaurants and coffee bars in close proximity, also taxis and buses. We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel

when we've landed in Tenerife, we went to rent a car, there is when the girl at the kiosk saw our hotel booking and told us that is not a great place/coast of the island, as the sun does not really appear very often over there. we though she was a bit exaggerating, it could not be that bad. Well, on our disappointment, it was exactly like she said. we stayed there for 12 nights, we saw a bit of sun in the last 2 days. the rest of the days were cloudy and quite chilly. a total different story 15 min drive away to south, the sun was expecting you there! we were going to Las Teresitas beach, Los Cristianos and Playa las Americas, each of them are like 45 min drive away from the hotel, and I should say that there is where the LIFE of the party was. Semiramis was quite deprived of clubs, restaurants, beaches,people and SUN! probably that was a major reason why everyone was upset in that hotel, guests and staff. the catering guys were amazing, they do deserve an A+, especially Eusebio, lovely guy, he made our stay more pleasant. FOOD was ok, nice variety for dinner while the breakfast was the same for 12 mornings. HOUSEKEEPING not satisfied at all, they would not change your towels unless you'll put them on the floor in the middle of the room. in 12 days they changed our bed sheets just once, and because we asked so. no mopping, no hoovering no nothing. the room itself was awful,old furnished and even though we were staying at 11th floor, it was pretty noisy as the water was touching very hard the cliffs, in the night it might not be the sound you are expecting to hear. very hard to find a spot for parking if you did not rent a car from the hotel. swimming pool, no chance to use it as there is no sun and its cold.

Room Tip: all have sea view.lower floors new furnished and very noisy.upper floors-old furniture and less noisy

This is an older hotel that has been refurbished in places to a high standard e.g. rooms, indoor pool, snack bar area. The main pool area is in desperate need of upgrading. The hotel is immaculately clean and plenty of toiletries are provided together with a safe and fridge. Everything in the fridge is included in the AI package. The entertainment is very poor to non-existent in the evenings, not much going on in the daytime either. The hotel is very sprawling and there are lots of steps to reach the outdoor areas. Unfortunately whilst I was staying during the early part of March there was an outbreak of sickness and diarrohea. I don't know how long this had been going on for but there were bottles of hand disinfectant lotion everywhere, my advice is use it. The bug seemed to be affecting the elderly guests who had health issues anyway. My friend went down with it on the 3rd day and had the doctor twice, both of whom would not take credit card. The cost was 130 euros inc. injection and 100 euros just for the doctor to send you to hospital which happened to my friend where she stayed for the next 4 days of her holiday. Everyday there was an ambulance at the hotel to take another person to hospital. What annoyed me was that there was no mention of this bug from any Saga Rep or hotel management you found out from other guests. You need plenty of Euros with you as there are no change places and the hotel will not change your money. Also keep your E11 card with you at all times. That apart, the area is very steep everywhere but lovely, the sound of the Atlantic waves crashing, the views on a clear day of Mount Teide covered in snow beautiful. In my opinion the food was quite varied, even a stir fry option which I had never seen before and a curry area. The best time to get a decent meal is lunch time as in the evenings, particularly at weekends the restaurant is like a school canteen with the noise. The packed lunches are pretty grim, alright if you like salami but if you don't then order the vegetarian option as you get cheese and tomato with bread rolls. The Management don't like you making your own to take away with you even if you are on AI, I was told off by a waiter!!!! If you like an alcoholic drink then the wine on AI is ok and drinkable; but the spirits are very weak, you are able to pay a supplement if you want the branded and stronger spirit. Also if you are with Saga a courtesy bus is provided a few times during the day to take you down to the main part of Puerto de la Cruz but you still have a steep walk down and back to where the bus drops you. Taxis are very plentiful, very good and quite affordable.

Very good, hard working staff who are always helpful and pleasant.

Buffet style food service works very well - food very good and wide choice always available.

Hotel in a good location, shops and restaurants close by.

Excellent cooked breakfast.

Hotel good value for money.

Highly recommended.

Room Tip: All rooms have sea view.

Came here on a 4 week break. Hotel rooms were nice, but all rooms faced the sea which was good but there was no sun so you could not sit on your balcony.
The down side to this place is the food, it is never hot even if you get there at the start. Vegetables are done to death and in short supply.
Every day is the same old thing and everything is tasteless.
It's a real shame they even changed the chef but to no avail.
This was an all inclusive holiday but we ate out more than we did in which should not have been the case.
Part of your holiday is enjoying the local food and trying new things, what a joke !!
A real disappointment !!!!
