This is one of seven specific monuments in Toledo that you can visit with a “tourist bracelet”, which you can buy from any one of the seven monuments. It’s cheaper than buying tickets for the seven places separately. And it really is a bracelet – a sturdy paper one – that’s waterproof and difficult to tear. I kept mine on for 7 days before cutting it off (I couldn’t just break it ….). Whilst the bracelet is on your wrist, you can visit the named monuments as many times as you want.

The monastery is most easily accessed from the Cambron Gate, but – since Toledo is eminently walkable – you can easily walk to it from anywhere in the city. It’s a 15th century Franciscan building, and its architecture is beautiful. The cloisters provide a peaceful haven. Absolutely worth a visit – and don’t miss the chains hanging from one of the exterior walls ….

This Gothic monastery (plus some Moorish aspects) is a lovely, albeit small, place to visit. I loved the courtyard. The architecture is awesome.

Well worth a visit. Although small compared to other places it has a lot to see and the cloister is delightful.

I though this was a very impressive building. On our first night in Toledo we walked into the town above the Monastery and there is a lovely scenic viewpoint looking down over it. It looked magical with the sun setting behind it. I thought that architecturally it looked just as wonderful the following day when we walked round it and went inside. The inner courtyard is lovely both on the ground level and from the upper tier - look for the animal gargoyles - there's a cat, a bird and a monkey. We spent about an hour here, inside the church and walking round the courtyard and taking photographs. The were a number of interesting things to look out for with explanatory plaques in both English and Spanish

This inexpensive visit to a delightful building is worth an hour or so. The inner courtyard is beautiful and the exterior has great views (and looks like Harry Potter!). Wish the library had been redone.
