even the scorching heat in the middle of summer did not prevent us from having fun doing all sorts of poses at the facade of this monastery. its gothic structure lie formidably in Toledo because of its central location and the province was once the capital of the ancient visigoth kingdom. truly, a rich heritage site that offers a wealth of cultural information.

Came across this hidden gem and spent the 4 euros to See inside. Amazing space, beautiful tile work and wooden coffered ceilings. Special place for queen Isabella. Church is very spiritual, worth a visit.

We enjoyed the chapel to rest and cool off after a busy day of walking about. Great acoustics for singing a Gregorian chant (no one else was there!). The cloister was impressive as well.

This is one of seven specific monuments in Toledo that you can visit with a “tourist bracelet”, which you can buy from any one of the seven monuments. It’s cheaper than buying tickets for the seven places separately. And it really is a bracelet – a sturdy paper one – that’s waterproof and difficult to tear. I kept mine on for 7 days before cutting it off (I couldn’t just break it ….). Whilst the bracelet is on your wrist, you can visit the named monuments as many times as you want.

The monastery is most easily accessed from the Cambron Gate, but – since Toledo is eminently walkable – you can easily walk to it from anywhere in the city. It’s a 15th century Franciscan building, and its architecture is beautiful. The cloisters provide a peaceful haven. Absolutely worth a visit – and don’t miss the chains hanging from one of the exterior walls ….

This Gothic monastery (plus some Moorish aspects) is a lovely, albeit small, place to visit. I loved the courtyard. The architecture is awesome.
