So friendly and the every dish was delicious. The mojitos were fab. The food was even better. Won't regret a dinner here.

After much searching our daughter recommended Louro out of all the fine restaurants in Barcelona. It was one of her best recommendations ever! Our waiter was superb with a keen sense of humor. He explained the menu well and it has lots of options. My only wish is that we could try them all. There were five of us in the group and each enjoyed our meals immensely — one of the best we had in our tour of Spain. In short, if you are ever in Barcelona place Louro at the top of your restaurant list!

After a string of average restaurants in Madrid, we decided to give Louro a try with my wife and our two young girls. The food was excellent. Here are the points.

Ambiance. Think neighborhood bistro with a bit of bohemian flair. The first dining room has wood tables and chairs and feels a bit more rustic modern. The second dining room has blue toile wallpaper with large wicker lights painted gold , black dining tables and hotel banquet chairs. Of the two rooms, I prefer the first dining room. A place to go with family and less fussy friends.

Appetizers. We tried the octopus, the scallops, and the croquette. The scallops were excellent. The flavor of the sauce melded perfectly with the scallops, and the dish was sublime. The octopus was interesting but didn't quite work for me. The octopus was a just a tad too salty for my liking and the sauce tasted a bit like pea soup. Croquette was good.

Main dish. We had the creamy lobster rice for two people. In the last year, I would say this is my favorite dish of any restaurant we've eaten at, and this includes several Michelin-starred restaurants. The dish comes in a pan, and the rice and the lobster are piping hot. The lobster is sweet and succulent, and the rice has just the right amount of bite. Not overly chewy, not overly liquidy. And the flavor is just fantastic!!

Kid's dish. They have what they called chicken nuggets and fries. It is actually breaded, deep fried chicken cutlets with fries. The chicken is pounded thin, breaded and deep fried. More like an escalope or schnitzel.

Desserts. Had the fried milk and the pear cake with coffee ice cream. Both desserts were very good. The fried milk is kind of like pan-fried custard. A little crispy on the outside, soft when you bite into it. The cake with coffee ice cream was an unusual combination, but it worked very well. The slight bitterness of the coffee cream contrasted nicely with the cake.

Service. Casual and friendly. Everyone was very nice, and we had a wonderful time.

Overall, an excellent casual restaurant! One of the best restaurants I've been to this year.

We’ve been all throughout Spain for the past 2 weeks and this was one of our favorite meals! It was very good!!! We got the pumpkin soup, hake, and lobster/ rice is a must. Most places on Rambla are tourist attractions with terrible food but this is not.
