We ended up trying a few French macarons before dinner one night.. Why not?

We decided on the Pina colada, mixed berry, and raspberry. Can I say amazing? The flavors were very intense and they had the perfect texture.

The mixed berry had a cream cheese middle : )

Wandering around las Ramblas and we stumbled upon this lovely caféteria which had been recommended by a local. The atmosphere is lovely but apart from that, the dessert is simply perfect. We have tried the cheese cake made from mascapone and creamcheese and it is so light and fluffy. The sweetness is just right so it doesn't overwhelms the cheese flavour. For me, it is outstanding to make something that seems normal tastes special, and Escriba hits the right note.

The service is correct and attentive. It might be slow to get seated but it's not the staff's fault since it is indeed a very busy cafe.

There are several branches in town so if you pass by one, just try it out.

If you have got a sweet tooth you have to go to this place. The food is just amazing & the staff very nice. The waffle I had I am still trying to get over. So impressed

I am sitting outside Escriba now, using their free WiFi in order to post this review. What a little gem this place is, on the Rambla, just opposite the Jamon museum (yes, Barcelona even has a museum dedicated to ham!). We love the architecture of the building, the cool shaded outside cafe tables, watching the staff make waffles for sale from a window on the corner of the building, and watching the hordes of people walking down the Rambla. Perfect spot for people watching. The coffee is gorgeous. We didn't try any of the food other than the Crema Catalana - a type of Creme Brûlée - again
delicious.

Every time you pass by the shop you crave something sweet! I went in only for a cappuccino, but I'm going again tomorrow for a chocolate croissant as well! Really worth a go!
