We went there based on the good reviews, but were disappointed with the service. We had to wait several minutes before we even were approached by the staff, even though the restaurant was pretty much empty. The service continued to be slow. HOWEVER, we ordered the 10 cheeses and they were amazing. The wine was also great and good priced. So overall a good experience, despite the slowness.

We were on a day visit to Girona and wanted a light lunch before taking the train back to Barcelona late afternoon. We had not checked anything online and left it to chance - we love wandering around and we were pretty sure we would find something we liked the look of. And we certainly did. This is an utter delight. It's a small wine shop, wine bar and cafe and the menu quickly got our attention. Why? Because, finally, here was somewhere serving Spanish cheeses. I LOVE cheese, I knew the Spanish were good cheese producers but was astonished how rarely any of the restaurants offered anything other than a slice of Manchego. My husband writes about wine (but in a fun not technical way) and quickly got into a conversation with the woman serving whose English was excellent. And my turn came when we got to the cheese! Before the cheese we had slippery fresh as can be marinated sardines with tiny chips of cherry and a crispy salad. The cheeses - a selection of five cut into two pieces each so there were no squabbles. We were shown what order to eat them in to make sure one flavour did not overwhelm the next. They were sublime. A goats with paprika was particularly joyous but all of them I could have eaten till i was giddy. Proof: I had what I think we would call goat's curd with pine scented honey for pudding. The curd was still in its paper slip, feather light and the woody honey combination was surprising but simply gorgeous. Oh, and the wine was pretty spectacular too. I normally won't take photographs of food in restaurants but could not resist. One of the holiday culinary highlights.

We were at a loose end for supper
We went initially for a drink but the food being served to other diners made us stay and eat
The wine was excellent; the food was basically expensive snacks but they were very nice and suited the wine bar atmosphere - but as a wine bar it is thebplace for a three course meal
The service was leisurely but very considerate
While we were there several potential diners were turned away as the number of places was small and it is probably a very pleasant place for a drink and a tasty snack before going off to see friends rather than spending the whole evening there

We had a quick stop there to enjoy an Espresso.
Unfortunately the Espresse (from Lavazza) was too long and not really tasty. What a pity. Guess they are much better in wine and cheese.
