Nice quick breakfast/light lunch at La Fabrica, if you want a healthier cafe. I had the avocado toast with a side of hummus €9. Probably slightly more expensive than it should be but I was craving avocado toast (having been outside of Australia for 2 months), so it hit the spot! They were VERY light on the avocado but good option nonetheless. The hummus was delish!!

On a nice little place, La Fabrica offers tasteful and fresh dishes.
The staff is pretty kind but in a hurry.

I would totally recommend this original restaurant as there's no other atmosphere in Girona (it's a well known stop for cyclists).

Nevertheless, it's a pity that, in Spain, they ran out of juice oranges at 11 am.

What a disappointment. Breakfasts were all pooly executed and the core ingredients inedible. The eggs on the Mediteranean Farmers were rubbery, hard and cold and had obviously been cooked hours earlier ready for assembly. The avocado on 3 breakfasts was so hard and unripe that it had to be sent back and was also black where it had again been left to stand. The replacement humus with beans was cold and had only a thin smattering of beans while the ham and cheese croissant was burnt but also strangely cold.
Despite the hype about healthy options and fresh ingredients, the kitchen is poorly run, food poorly cooked and ingredients substandard. We all left disappointed and wondering why we had bothered.

We came to La Fabrica for breakfast, having heard excellent things on Trip Advisor and other food blogs.
Being Australian, we're a bit mad about good coffee.
The coffee here is really nice, but was served borderline cold - despite us asking for it to be extra hot.
We politely asked the waitress to send two avocado toast dishes back because the avocado was dark brown, rock solid and tasted off.
She replied "sometimes avocados are naturally hard" and disappeared inside the cafe.
Guys, we're Australian - avocado on toast is a national pastime.
My husband ended up having to physically take both dishes back himself.
They made us an alternative dish and brought us extra coffees, which was a nice gesture.
A few minutes later the table next to us sent their avocado dish back for the same problem.
Perhaps a batch of bad avocados - but very poor form for the kitchen to serve clearly inedible food, especially after they became aware of the problem.
Maybe we just caught them on a bad day, but the whole experience left us feeling a bit yuck.
We won't be back.
