Parked in the cable car car park and walked up to Jews Gate. Steep road walk to warm the legs and then once you get to the barrier then the challenge really begins. Most of our group completed in 20-30 mins from this point, sweaty and out of breath but having enjoyed the challenge. Mix of clothing from walking shoes to running trainers and going up you will be too hot whatever you wear but the walk coming down with the breeze will cool you quickly so make sure you have layers. Short walk back from car park to read algae square for a pint to celebrate our achievement. All in car park to car park with a short stop at the top was about 90mins - 2 hrs. But we also destroyed to do the rope bridge on the way down and put a few more steps in.
Really enjoyed it. It’s not the greatest challenge for anyone used to hill walking but a good way to spend a short afternoon on the rock.

Certainly one of the best ways to see the southern end of the rock. It took us under 3 hours from town to hike the trail, then back down Charles V wall. Not for the unfit though!

Living in Andorra and walking everyday I am pretty fit but this was still a decent walk. The views are magnificent and well worth the effort. If you don’t fancy it up try getting the cable car and walking down. We stayed in Gib for a week and it was an amazing week lots to do....great food and very nice people .

Race the steps this is a challenge to race the war time steps to the summit of the The Rock of Gibraltar. Great view of a very loyal part of the UK and Long may it remain so to benefit both Gibraltar and Spain.
