Owner description: The Sorolla Museum preserves the original atmosphere of both home and study of the painter Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida (Valencia, 1863 - Cercedilla, 1923). It houses the richest collection of his works, colourful paintings irradiating light and vitality. It is one of the more complete and best preserved artist homes remaining in Europe. The garden, also designed by himself, is a beautiful oasis in the city.

The Sorolla Museum not only has a vast collection of the artist's work, but it is located in the home of Sorolla, to give a further glimpse into his life. The museum is beautifully designed, and is in a lovely neighborhood in Madrid. It is definitely worth a visit.

Sorolla’s art is really accessible for the non-artsy types, and this collection is housed in what was his own residence and studio, which adds a really interesting historical element to the visit. It’s not huge and ticket prices are reasonable, which makes it even more doable with children and those who can’t be on their feet for too long. Highly recommended!

This is the house where Sorolla lived and worked and the house and furniture are also worth the visit. Sorolla was a contemporary and friend of Singer Sergeant and probably a better painter, although not so well known outside Spain. The several portraits of his wife are masterful and the upper floor has a temporary exhibition of his work. Never crowded. a pleasure to visit

An absolute gem. Beautiful house and studio, You get a true feel as how artist and his family lived. Go early as later there may be a line to get in.
