Main highstreet for shopping and leisure in Madrid. Get´s very busy in the afternoons and is unbearable in the sun with the crowds. Will be better once the pedestrianisation is done.

Magnificent avenue in the heart of Madrid. Take a walk and look on magnificent buildings along this avenue. Each of them has either columns, or statues on the upper levels. beautiful arhutecture examples from the turn of the last century. beware of pickapocketiers.

Lots of big name stores but an interesting street to stroll, mainly because of the many interesting smaller side streets that have smaller/independent shops, cafes and bars. Great place to soak up the Madrid atmosphere and watch the activity all around.

Take a walk down the street. Full of the major shops and very crowded so a haven for pickpockets so be vigilant.

To get the best out of the street walk down one side, cross over and walk back the other. Try stopping for a quiet drink or snack to enjoy people watching.
