We were referred to Lucio by a friend who lives in Madrid and is a real foodie. We were properly welcomed and shown our impeccably set table with white table cloth. We ordered typical dishes they are famous for . I selected a good wine and afterwards our waiter Jose Rodrigues recommended yet a better Rioja Alta, my favourite Spanish wine. The food was dish by dish excellent. The professional staff, mostly older and very experienced, were kind, funny and helpful. Of all great places that we dined with 4 people in Madrid on this trip, Casa Lucio stands out as very memorable.

There is the oldest restaurant in Madrid and then there is Casa Lucio- Def go to Casa Lucio! Traditional Spanish food at its finest. The waiters won't steer you wrong. There is also a cute wine bar a few steps down the street to have wine or sangria before dinner called La Concha!

The place is very busy, the service is friendly and rapid.Your dining experience may be influenced by where you are seated as there are a few seating areas, some better than others. The food was acceptable but nothing startling. The room we were sat in was bright and chilly and loud.dinner was quickly over and we moved on.The prices are higher than some places without an increase in quality.wouldn't go back.

I do agree, this restaurant is a Tourist trap. But the fact that they have excellent food makes the "tourist trap" a mute point. We went here and ate excellent food. The Chuletas de Cordero, Solomillo, Hake and Bass all amazing. We ordered Some eggs with french fries, really good but this is something that you can easily do a home.

Service is not the best, but not terrible, just at par with the rest of Europe. All in all, you will eat really good food at an authentic Spanish restaurant. The only thing that I find odd, is that this is the only restaurant in all of Madrid that expects tips when you pay.
