Bodegas Rossell is a fantastic neighborhood gem, off the beaten path. Well worth the effort to find it right behind Atocha train station. Atmosphere, service and food are all outstanding.

The receptionist at our apartment complex recommended this place to us and we weren't disappointed. The service was great and timely. My daughter and I shared a mixed tapas platter and got to choose a couple of the selections which was nice as we got to try some of our vacation favourites one last time. This was our last dinner before flying home the following morning so it was nice to go out on a high.

I had some lovely tapas at this place last week.
It is a simple place and we had dinner on the street. Nothing fancy as a place but traditionally Spanish.
The beer was nice, the jamon (ham) great. Some lovely montaditos as well.
Altogether the bill was acceptable and we had a lovely evening.
the service was good and we were paid the right amount of attention.

This is a wonderful place for a dinner full of laughter, great food, great wine, and seriously good cheer. The staff work together like a warm family, passing customer off to each other with a joke and a smile, helping those of us confused by the huge array of local wine available to pick something suitable, and helping navigate a fabulous menu of smaller and larger dishes that stretch across seafood, meats, vegetable dishes, sausages and more.

The costs are reasonable, the ambiance is delightful - you won't regret an evening spent here!

A word to the wise: either come in early (near opening times), or make a reservation. The local folks have clearly known about the joys of dining here for years, so you'll want to be early to find your place!

We saw reviews on this restaurant on Yelp and TripAdvisor but selected it due to the proximity to our hotel as we were worn out from exploring the city. We had 2 primary waiters - I'm sorry I don't remember the name of the first - and Aldo was our second. The entire staff was very, very good: from pouring wine, to bringing dishes, and more... We asked for food recommendations and they were fantastic, and the local regional wine was superb. For 5 adults we paid 144 euros which included multiple plates, 2 bottles of wine, water, and deserts.. This is a great 'local' restaurant and well worth finding.
