We really enjoyed however a couple of negatives. The good was the service, wine and mostly the food. The not so good, too hot inside restaurant, the smoked cured beef had way too much oil over it and if dining on a Monday no fresh fish. I understand and respect you don't want to serve nothing but the freshest produce but maybe note that on the website. If we had known we would of come on a different night. The wine pictured really is a great local wine for under 20 euros.

A warm welcome awaits, as long as you can reserve a table. This is a very popular venue in Cabanyal.
Well worth the effort, of trying to book!

Great choice of wines. Wide and varied.
Very tasty food and an attentive service.
Reasonable prices.
We got about 5 different dishes and all of them were very good.

It's a famous place but after a great evening there, we understand why. First of all, the surroundings are impressive in this bar/restaurant that dates from 1836 ! Secondly, the service was great; friendly and very helpful in helping you decide. my advice is not to choose everything from the menu. Let the staff advise you!! Finally, the food was really exceptional. everything extremely fresh and well prepared. We had many different dishes but what stays with me above everything else were the roasted artichokes and the shell fish in a simple broth. Really exceptional and worth the little wait outside that we passed very pleasantly with a glass of good wine......

We visited Casa Montana one evening (after booking ahead) due to the hype and were not disappointed. Very traditional restaurant - were entered through the bar area and were then lead through to the restaurant area and seated with direct views of the very small kitchen so could see all the action. We shared patatas bravas (small plate - ample for 2!) broad beans (small plate - again ample for 2) baccala, cheese and bread (charged for but we thought it complementary) sadly there was no octopus but we were very impressed with the dishes and service. Would highly recommended a visit to experience true, Valencian Tapas and charm.
