Day three of our road trip and after checking into our hotel we wandered down to the beautiful beach for a real Valencian paella. Looked up and down all the restaurants and husband was encouraged to enter El Coso by two lovely ladies pulling in the punters. However the set menu did look pretty good starter, paella and postre (pudding). We had a plate of chipitos between us which were nice but not the best we have had in Spain. We had a seafood paella which was ok but a bit dry and the stock it had been made with didn’t have the intensity of others we have tried. We had a very nice bottle of house red and needed that as our pudding did not materialise. We were in no hurry and the view from the table was lovely, but it just didn’t arrive. All our waiters had been older gentlemen obviously experienced and professional but something had gone amiss. We spoke to a younger waiter and he apologised and offered to get
It got us but we had list our appetite by now. The girls outside were obviously working real hard to get people in but the waiters were letting them down! Lovely location but average food. Perhaps we should’ve stuck to the town rather than the touristy beachside.

Dear Debbie,
Firstly thank you for your time to comment.
Well, the girl that is outside promoting the dairy menu does not force to any one to come in. She just gives you information about our menus.
Our apologies for our mistake with your dessert. It does not usually happens even if the restaurant is so busy.
We will transmit your comment to our staff that normally is so valored because of they service.

Regards,

Delightful hostess convinced me to come in for a late lunch. The service was fast and I was offered a bread roll when my drink arrived. Thought nothing of it and nibbled on it out of boredom while my paella arrived (25 minutes to make, as forewarned). Generous portion of paella, though it was extremely oily and unfortunately made for unhappy belly for a few hours afterwards. When the bill came I discovered they charged me €1.50 for that miserable bread roll. This was the only time I was ever charged for bread during my week on Valencia.

Thank Bianca J

Dear Bianca,

Firstly, thank you for your time to post a comment.
Our apologies if your paella was oily, it is not something that happens frequently. We will comunicate it to our kitchen staff.
The waiters always ask if the customer wants bread because of that, Actually it is something normal in Spain. We guess there are places that does not charge the bread but most of them do it.
We hope you could give us a new opportunity and come to enjoy a nice meal and a nice environment with exceptional sea views.
Kind Regards,

Rude service! Very impolite waiters. A waiter gives you bread without asking or saying anything. But they charge you €1,50 per person for it. Bad fish. Complaints are ignored. There's absolutely much better in Valencia!

Good afternoon Maria,

Thank you for your comment.
Our apologies for your incident in our restaurant.
We are very sorry that our staff has seemed rude, because most valued at El Coso is the service that our waiters give and the attention they pay. They always ask to the customers if they want or not bread.
We will transmit this incident to our waiters..
Regards,

This restaurant is right by the beach and so offers great views (if you are on the right table, which we were). We booked using 'The Fork's' 30% off deal so value for money was good. The service was painfully slow and the not very interactive- it was not busy so no excuse really. The food - we had some starters which were nice and then a seafood paella, which was pretty average, nothing to set the world alight. I'm sure there are probably much better places, but it's an OK option if you're by the beach and like I said has great views.

El Coso restaurant - waiting for almost an hour for our paella without any chance of delivery in time. Better to think twice or to avoid this service.
