Day three of our road trip and after checking into our hotel we wandered down to the beautiful beach for a real Valencian paella. Looked up and down all the restaurants and husband was encouraged to enter El Coso by two lovely ladies pulling in the punters. However the set menu did look pretty good starter, paella and postre (pudding). We had a plate of chipitos between us which were nice but not the best we have had in Spain. We had a seafood paella which was ok but a bit dry and the stock it had been made with didn’t have the intensity of others we have tried. We had a very nice bottle of house red and needed that as our pudding did not materialise. We were in no hurry and the view from the table was lovely, but it just didn’t arrive. All our waiters had been older gentlemen obviously experienced and professional but something had gone amiss. We spoke to a younger waiter and he apologised and offered to get
It got us but we had list our appetite by now. The girls outside were obviously working real hard to get people in but the waiters were letting them down! Lovely location but average food. Perhaps we should’ve stuck to the town rather than the touristy beachside.
