Although I didn't stay at the hotel, I highly recommend the Longe Bar for a few drinks. The terrace overlooks the Sassi in Matera as well as the hill opposite. We went each night for a pre dinner drink and Marco really looked after us. Thanks Marco!!

The quarry is perfect in every way. It is extremely centrally located. Right near the cathedral and the museum about the development of matera. I’ve forgotten the name.
It’s only a short walk to the main square and all the sights.
The view of the sassi from the restaurant at night is magical.
We ate in the restaurant and couldn’t fault the food or the service.

Outstanding boutique luxury property. The staff were superb and our semi cave room an absolutely delight. The terrace bar has a great view of the Sassi in the evening. The lunch we ate there was superb and reasonably priced. The property has been sympathetically converted from the Palazzo into a world class hotel. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

Quarry Resort Staff!
We booked the Grand Studio Suite, and 10/10 recommend! This hotel room is massive! It has a small, indoor heated pool/jacuzzi, which you can adjust the temperature on. A large round bed, fold out sofa, and a large terrace. The bathroom is big, with a lot of counter space, which is hard to find in Europe!
The staff met us at our transfer location, and carried our luggage to the hotel and into our room. If you are bringing a car, they work with a company in town that holds your vehicle in their covered garage, and brings you as close to the hotel as possible, which is where the staff meets you.
The staff at the front desk is so friendly, they spoiled our son with treats when we passed by, and always greeted us!
Breakfast was good, there was a lot to choose from, and we could order of the menu too. We enjoy lunch in their dining room, however, if you are a vegetarian, there are not a lot of choices.
