The hotel was right on the edge of the Sassi (cave area) photos and reviews I had based my choice on were all as it was. Breakfast a the balcony was lovely as is watching the evening drop in. We didn’t have a cave room, we chose a normal room . It was big and had the best sleep of the holiday as it was nice and quiet and comfy bed Many lunch and dinner options nearby and short walk to the town square.

This was my favourite place to stay during a 15 day holiday travelling around southern Italy and Turin. Very warm welcome from the staff, a lovely quiet bedroom (as requested as my husband is sensitive to noise) and wonderful views from the terrace. A very easy walk to see the main sights, superb breakfasts and plenty of restaurants to have dinner close by - very good recommendations from the hotel. I really wish we could have stayed longer and next time we will. Matera is very beautiful and was very quick to reach by train from Bari. Thank you all at Palazzo Belsanti - highly recommend.
Amazing sassi accommodations right in the middle of Matera with an incredible view of the mountaintop village. Our host was so gracious and helpful and the view from the deck was the best breakfast & aperitif spot in the valley. Loved our room and loved this place
It came as advertised. Great view, great location, nice and helpful staff and convenient location. Continental breakfast was good. Walking distance to good restaurants and all tourists sites.
The room was fairly large and we had a private sitting area outside. I would return any time.
Amazing location, wonderful suite built inside a cave with excellent shower, private terrace and really helpful and friendly staff. Great brekkie too. Stay more than one night as really interesting city, superb restaurants and great shops
