Read in previous reviews that the restaurant was able to pick up and drop off guests. Made a reso and requested pick up from our hotel(which was far from the restaurant). They called our hotel to confirm the pickup and move up our reservation time as well! We were greeted in our hotel lobby and taken to an Audi convertible parked outside. Upon arrival our driver turned out to be one of only 2 waiters in the entire restaurant, serving 15 tables! We started with an amuse bouchée of delicate cheese filled pastries! That was followed by the BEST bread basket ever! You could tell everything was so fresh and homemade! A second amuse came around and we told them we had already eaten ours, but the server said shhhh, it’s a secret and let us have another plate full! The seafood was great and the pastas didn’t disappoint! Dinner was followed by a complimentary aperitif and sweet treat! When we told the waiter we had enjoyed too much lemoncello already that day he brought us something else to try! We spent 3 hours here and loved every minute of it! They even increased the portion of our dish to accommodate the three of us sharing our meal! You could tell the food was created and plated in a way that showed the passion and pride for the food they were serving! When we were ready to leave, we asked if we could get a cab back, as to not pull away the server again. To our surprise they arranged a driver free of charge to get us home safely! The taxi even played some classic Italian tunes to top off our amazing evening! Please arrange a visit to this hidden gem! It will be worth your time to feel so taken care of!

In our two weeks in Sorrento, Bistro Sorrento was our best dining experience. The 15 minute walk uphill from Piazza Tasso helped build up a good appetite for the delights that lay ahead. We received a very warm welcome from the owner and given small complimentary taster bites of mini pizza breads with cheese and tomato to enjoy while browsing the menu.

The antipasti starter we selected was the best we had in the region. As well as the expected platter of hams and cheeses, we had two other plates with little cheese balls, mozzarella squares, ravioli bites and a large aubergine stuffed with a mixture of aubergine, tomato and cheeses - see pic 1 below.

In between starter and main we received a complimentary dish of beef carpaccio, which came to the table in an impressive dish which when the lid was removed, emitted an aromatic smoke - this dish looked impressive, as well as tasting the same.

For mains, we had 2 pasta dishes, both of which melted in your mouth, one each of beef fillet dish and beef tenderloin dish (see pic 2) which were as tasty as you could get anywhere in the world.

The complimentary limoncello arrived on a tray, containing a little bottle of the lemony stuff, 4 shot glasses and 4 miniature unexpected treats, see pic 3.

Throughout the meal staff were very attentive, with the owner popping down to see us a few times, sharing some humor with us.

Our biggest, and most pleasant, surprise came when paying the bill, when the owner asked if we wanted a lift back to the main square. Having accepted this kind offer, his son drove us back to Piazza Tasso in his Audi convertible with red leather seats. A nice touch to end the meal for us, and one we were most grateful for as it was a hot night.

Thank you guys for an excellent meal. Our only regret was that we hadn’t discovered this little gem earlier in the holiday, as if we had done so, we would definitely have returned. Maybe next time!!!

This restaurant is away from the busiest pedestrian streets in Sorrento. The owner and his chef (son Danielle) created a multicourse lunch that totally exceeded our expectations. Bread is homemade and served warm. A selection of fried appetizers arrived with homemade dipping mayonnaise. The ravioli and rice balls were my favorites. House cured prosciutto, capicollo, and pancetta with local cheese were excellent. Steamed mussels and clams were fresh and flavourful. An eggplant stuffed with a delicious tomato sauce and mozzarella and topped with mozzarella foam was really good. The best dish was the special of the day...a homemade ravioli with a yellow and red cherry tomato sauce.

Me and my wife visited Sorrento, and because of trip advisor we found this restaurant. Pasquale the owner is so nice, welcoming, funny, and taking care personally all the customers. He made us feel like part of his family and friends, and the second night when we chose to come again, he waited for us to welcome us outside upon arrival! The food is terrific, no other word. Excellent local cuisine and excellent meet from Toscani and from abroad. The price of dishes are good for everyone. All the workers were so welcoming and friendly. The restaurant also provide round trip pickup from the hotels in Sorrento. Pasquale - thanks for everything and we will remember you, your jokes, and your delicious food for life!!! Adi and Paz

We had a lovely evening at Bistro Sorrento. They offer a free pick up service which we gratefully accepted as it is up a steep winding hill with no pavements and were collected from our hotel. We were welcomed like family and enjoyed a lovely meal at a very reasonable price. We had the mixed seafood starter which I would highly recommend followed by pasta dishes. My partner, less of a seafood lover, opted for the boar ragu while I had gnocchi. Both were delicious and we had wine at €12 per bottle so could not complain. I agree with a few other reviewers that service is not the most attentive but they are very friendly and if you are not in a rush this is no problem. We had a very enjoyable evening.
