We loved La Scalinatella. It starts with arriving and being greeted personally with a handshake by all the staff at reception. The view over the bay of Capri is incredible. Then we started with lunch and that also was fabulous and the service so friendly and funny.
What a great way to start our short visit to Capri. We had a lovely room with our own terrace. A huge bathroom. All very nicely decorated.
What we did not know is that they can help you with picking up your luggage from the boat. We ended up taking a taxi and then dragging the luggage through the little streets to the hotel. But going back we used the hotel service and that was so much easier.
La Scalinatella only serves lunch but they gave us good recommendations for restaurants.
It is a great place where we will surely return one day (without the kids, because it is a very romantic place!).

Room tip: I think all the rooms are nice and overlooking the bay of Capri, but I am not sure.

As with our previous stays at this hotel, the entire experience was outstanding. The staff are amazing, warm and attentive, the rooms are exquisite, the lunch at the pool is wonderful and relaxing and Nicolino Morgano remains the perfect host. It is like a stay at a very luxurious private villa more than a hotel. I have only given five stars because that is all that were available. It is most certainly worth more. This price seems steep, but it is fabulous value for money.

Room tip: Rooms with a terrace overlooking the sea are best. Do book the car from the airport or train station, it makes life so much easier.

This hotel was fabulous. We will stay here again. I had seen this hotel when I last stayed at Villa Brunella a few years ago. What I admired then, and loved the most, were the gorgeous common areas with sea views. Inviting entry with breakfast on the terrace surrounded with beautiful flowers. Pool overlooking the water. We stayed for 6 nights in room #60 a deluxe double room. The king bed was a pleasant surprise and we also had a nice full sofa and coffee table. This room had a wonderful sea view and a large terrace with a table, chairs, and lounge chairs. The bathroom was spacious (only one sink) and there was great closet space - two separate closets. This room also had a desk and chair. The sheets and towels were luxurious. We were not clear when we booked but breakfast is included - there is no buffet, order what you want. The housekeeping service was fantastic. Service overall was stellar. Lovely and friendly staff who are eager to serve.
