I actually give this hotel 4 1/2 stars. Service is without question 5 stars! The only reason I drop it a 1/2 star has nothing to do with the hotel, just it's location. Capri is not an island that is conducive to walking. The streets are very narrow and cars fly along these narrow streets at a pretty good clip. To get anywhere around the island you need to utilize the hotels shuttle service. The shuttle service is fantastic! One phone call and they are on their way to get you! One strange thing I found out. If you are from the EU, the hotel will provide you with a cell phone with hotel number preloaded. If you are not from the EU, you do not get the phone? I know this because we shared a shuttle with a couple from the UK one evening and the gentlemen gave us the phone to use during our stay. My cellphone was not working in Europe so I am not quite sure how I would have contacted the hotel if not for the cellphone provided by the chap from the UK.
The great..Viviana was wonderful to work with throughout the booking process and greeted us with her big beautiful smile. While we were checking in, Peppe casually walked over with two glasses of cold water with lemon (that happened to be perfect after our 4 hour boat ride to Capri). After we checked in, we were told to go have a welcome drink with Peppe. He introduced us to an Aperol Spritzer. We had a few. Then Champagne, martini, etc. etc. We asked for some lunch and Peppe came out with Prosciutto and Mozzarella and a nice Caprese salad for my wife. Peppe became a friend over the 2 nights there. He is one of the nicest people you ever want to meet and he works extremely long hours! During lunch and dinner, Peppe would bring a little something on the side that was just perfect! He has a way of reading your mind and learns your likes and dislikes very quickly.
We enjoyed this hotel very much!
We will return again one day to see our friend, Peppe!
I recommend you visit this hotel as well!
