Description: The restaurant opened in 1935 as a typical Roman general store licensed to sell and also to supply food and drink; tables were available for clients to eat their meals made with products either bought in store or brought from home. Housed in a period building of King Umberto I (1885), a few steps from the Roman gate at Porta Pia, today TRATTORIA CORIOLANO continues to be the favourite meeting place for lovers of both tradition and good food. A welcoming atmosphere, a warm and homely environment, a scent of wood which colours the walls chestnut brown; wood panelling, pictures and various memorabilia, a blend of tastes past and present.Seasonal products, homemade delicacies. Roman traditions are followed and contemporary dishes are offered together with the best specialities of Roman cooking.TRATTORIA CORIOLANO, an historic place abreast of the times, that remembers its origins.

Can’t really fault this place; we booked it last minute and were not disappointed. We had one starter of bresaola & rocket, 2 mains (sea bass and saltimbocca/veal), and a local desert of pastry with chocolate sauce and Chantilly cream. All were delicious, would definitely recommend and return. It’s not the place to go for a loud buzzy experience; definitely a quieter more sedate setting, so maybe not the place to bring young kids etc. We really enjoyed it. Very nice and friendly staff.

We were fortunate to have dinner at this Rome traditional. We were greeted by a charming lady who has been part of the family which stated the restaurant in 1935.
Our starter was the Tuna Tatars but not before we were offered a fresh tuna pieces marinated. We were shown the fresh porcine mushrooms and had a secondi of Tagliolini with mussels and porcine in a pepper sauce.
Our primi was the sea bass in potato crust.
Everything was outstanding.
A memorable meal capped off with a beautiful white and red special house wine.
A beautifully decorated restaurant with wood paneling, fine linen and crystal just steps away from the Porta Pia.
What an experience.
Buno appetito!

They accommodated a group of 13 on short notice. Service and food were impeccable. Dishes were reasonably priced given the quality of the ingredients.

On our last night in Rome we wanted a wonderful Italian meal. This restaurant certainly gave us that.
The service was excellent and the food delicious, particularly the black truffle and blue cheese risotto.
Thank you for providing a wonderful finish to our Italian holiday.
Highly recommend!!!
