We really enjoyed our recent 5 night stay at the Residenza Torre Coloana. I can second the other reviews - the people are warm and helpful, the rooms are very quiet, the breakfast is terrific, the location is great. Also, there is an elevator, which is most appreciated as the building is quite vertical.

Sarah, the owner, is very informative and helpful. She arranged a cab for us from the airport, which was wonderful and very moderately priced. She warned us about the tricks the Roman cab drivers like to play and helped us with reservations and other travel related questions.

Spent 4 wonderful days touring Rome. Location of Residenza Torre Colonna is wonderful-- easy access to most of the sites we wanted to visit. Staff was warm and friendly particularly Alvin who was always there when you needed him and went out of his way to assist us on several occasions.

The room was very comfortable with every amenity needed. Breakfast was excellent, once again prepared by Alvin.

Strongly recommend them to anyone looking for a small comfortable B&B

... stay in the centre of everything. That is exactly what you'll do in the Residenza Torre Colonna. The Forum, the Capitol and the Piazza Venezia are just around the corner, - and the hotel has a charming roof terrace whence you can admire it all. It really is a medieval tower (some 900 years old, meant for defense and a bit of a statement) with one room per floor. You need not worry about the traffic noise of central Rome, the walls are thick and the modern windows well insulated.
The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, and the small staff very friendly, efficient and will cater to your every desire. Highly recommended for a Roman holiday with a difference.

Dear SKruse,

Thank you very much for your great review of Torre Colonna.

We appreciate greatly reviews which indicate clearly to Tripadvisor Readers, who will hopefully become our future guests, what type of bed and breakfast we are so as to avoid misunderstandings. A medieval tower might sound a bit daunting to some but you have explained exactly what we are and where we are! THANK YOU!

We hope to have you again as our guests in the future.

With kind regards,

We spent five days at Torre Colonna in September. Sarah, the owner, arranged for cars to pick up my daughter & me and my husband at the airport (we arrived on different days). She graciously honored my request for the bedroom on the 5th floor, which we loved! The room is large but cozy. The beds were comfy, and the room was quiet. It has plenty of room for a queen size bed, a sleeper bed, a desk and a sitting area. Even with three of us in the room, we never felt as though we were on top of each other. The shower in this room is small and a little different but once we mastered the controls, we didn't mind it. Torre Colonna is a medieval tower, and the bathtub in the room and the shower are part of its charm. The breakfast is delicious and ample. Alvin was a gracious host and a terrific cappucino and latte maker. We looked forward to talking to him each morning. Sarah was a great source of advice on restaurants, transportation, safety and the sights of Rome. We loved, loved, loved our stay and wouldn't stay anywhere else next time we're in Rome. I just wish we could have stayed longer!

Just came back for a 4 day trip in Rome. My husband and I stayed in the yellow room on the second floor at Residenza Torre Colonna. We loved it!
The B&B was centrally located, as every other review had mentioned. We got local map and restaurant recommendations upon check-in. The gold-tone decor and painted ceiling was a perfect mixture of modern and tradition. The room was not large but efficient. There was a walk-in closet with shelves for storage. An espresso machine and tea-pot in room. There was also a small refrigerator and a safe. The bathroom was big with a jacuzzi!
We spent a couple of evenings on rooftop terrace for drinks. The view was incredible, especially when watching the Coliseum, the Pantheon,Emmanuel's monument and ancient Rome at sunset.
Alvin was an exceptional worker in the B&B who made us feel like home. Every morning at breakfast, he made sure we are satisfied with the food and drink choices. On our check-out day, he started earlier so we could have our breakfast before our departure. Thank you Alvin!
We used their car service, well worth the money. Both drivers were puncture and professional.
