This is the 3rd time we have stayed here, 2 were prior to the pandemic.
I had been in contact with them on several occasions by email to confirm the requested rooms, expected arrival etc., which they responded to.
At no time did they say that the owner had sold out to a company which is based in France, or that the Bar and Restaurant was no longer open for the evenings., This was the main reason for staying here, some evenings after a day walking the sites of Rome it ws nice to be able to chill out in the hotel. Also No Kettle or Tea Tray in our rooms on arrival, which had to be requested! No stocked Mini Bar, only a small Fridge with One bottle of water for the full 6 day stay.
They have now installed a Vending M/C in Reception, as no services are offered apart from the standard breakfast.
The Hotel has always been a little dirty in the communal areas, but the bedrooms were spotless, sadly this time the cleaning standard was very poor. our bedlinen and towels were changed only the once in our 6 night stay,
They are still advertising (and charging) 4* facilities and prices. This is at best a 3* bed and breakfast. This should have been downgraded when the Hotel ownership changed hands, but is still showing on all sites as a 4* hotel.
My sister and I are senior ladies and needed the facilities which were advertised and provided by every other 4* hotel in Rome
We had to go out for Dinner and Drinks every night which was not the plan., I could have booked a Bed & Breakfast elsewhere and paid the correct rate for this, but this hotel still charged me the full 4* price, no reduction was offered for the lack of services.
If you are looking for a clean 4* hotel in Rome with facilities as advertised, this is not the one for you,

Great location and really friendly staff at the reception, nice and clean room. Metro station just on a hotel doorstep, plus less than 10 min walk to Colosseum. Definitely will be staying there again.

Roberto, the front office manager was horribly rude!! We had a booking for three nights, he told us that he can’t let us stay with them because someone in the hotel got covid and they can’t check us in. ( we saw them check in other people ) he offered to put us up in a hotel close by which was not the same as this one. We did not want to change our hotels so we did not agree and after few minutes he did not give us that as an offer either. We were shocked at his behaviour and just could not understand how any hotel can behave this way. Never thought that something like this would happen (being stranded outside the hotel in a foreign country with a connfirmed fully paid for booking)
We are so glad this happened to us because we got a room in a close by hotel which was much much better called mecanate palace.
Please avoid this hotel both location and service (Roberto - front desk) was very bad.

I'm very sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your stay with us. I treat all comments with the utmost seriousness and I already investigated this unfortunate matter.
Unfortunately that night we were fully booked cause of some guest that felt bad and we could not sent them in another hotel. Maybe there were some misunderstanding as well because Roberto always put attention to our guest.
Thanks again and sorry for the inconvenient

Stayed for 2 nights post-cruise, Hotel allocated by cruise provider.. Mixed experience. Staff were pleasant and informative throughout. Location is good and within walking distance for many attractions. Only ate in once. Restaurant menu very limited and not at all impressive. Our room was comfortable and clean but bathroom was very tiny and shower access was definitely not for anyone even slightly over-weight (e.g. me!). Access to first floor is via a few steps and small lift, then more steps and another small lift to the rooms. If I was returning to Rome as an independent traveller, I would not stay here again.
