I have definitely stayed in better hotels during my travels. The Napolean is shabby and in need of a make over and in my opinion not located in the very best part of Rome BUT....what the hotel lacks in modern amenities and updated looks it certainly made up for in service and close approximity to the beautiful landmarks that Rome has to offer. In fact it was also the only hotel that had a gym (on our travels) and the rooms were slightly bigger than the other cities we had stayed in. The staff were delightful, knowledgeable and very friendly and accommodating. Shout out to Roberto on the front desk as well as the rest of the team. This was our last stop on our European visit and it was the first hotel that we walker into upon arrival where we didn't have to ask where to go to get good food. I'm addition, the subway was amazingly accessible and literally a few steps away from the hotels entrance. The Napolean is also central to many of the landmarks. Roberto also ensured that we had our wits about us from a safety perspective and warned us to be careful of pickpockets. The hotel breakfast wasn't that great but all in all, from a safety and cleanliness abd friendly staff aspect we had a lovely time bearing in mind we only used the hotel to sleep, shower and have breakfast at....More
