Arrived after over an hour transfer from the Airport!
You are closer to the Vatican area than The Colosseum.
This was a package deal to see Rome 2 days then Venice 2 days taking the Train.
Staff friendly and helpful.
We were upgraded on our room. Nicely decorated with fridge, ensuite and balcony with table and chairs.
You could see St. Peter’s from our balcony.
The Hotel is close to a bus route (20 minutes) where you can get round, also Metros.
Breakfast is buffet style which is ok but I’ve had better.
There was Bar in the Hotel but we didn’t use as always out sight seeing.
There was an Ice machine in the basement.
The big draw back is your away from the Centre of Rome.
We allowed an hour to get there by Taxi, but unfortunately we missed our tour of the Colosseum and had to find another tour.
I would of preferred to be in Central Rome. We spent a lot of money on Travelling round.
I would suggest a Hotel nearer the Centre to be cost effective and more buzz.

Me and my friend recently stayed at Hotel Pineta Palace in Rome for three nights (12th, 13th and 14th June) whilst visiting Venice and Rome as part of a package holiday deal booked by Tour Center, via Ice Lolly, which included the organisation of the hotels, flights and train from Venice to Rome in the package deal price for the holiday. As neither me and my friend have ever used a package deal website before to book holidays, however, and I always read Trip Advisor reviews too before deciding on somewhere to book! I was quite dubious of having the accommodation for our holidays organised for us, but Hotel Pineta Palace gave us a spacious and clean room, very friendly staff who were only too keen to help us at Reception, and also provided us with a delicious and very varied buffet style breakfast each day, which was a wonderful way to start up a day of sightseeing and also very good for the price!

The only cons of the hotel are a lack of handy plug sockets in the room (we had one in the room, one on the balcony?!, and one in the bathroom) and that it is also quite far from the city centre, with it either being about a 20/25 minute walk or a short bus ride to the nearest metro station, and then another further about 20 minute metro ride to get into the city centre, and so obviously you have to consider this additional travel time when planning getting to and from the city centre, and making the most of your day. All in all though this is a perfect stay if you don't mind this extra travel time being in your day, and you're looking for cheap accommodation with a hearty breakfast included whilst staying in Rome :)

The hotel is a quaint little place, upon entry you are met with a great looking entrance, clean and comfortable. Some of the staff speak English quite well but then some know very little and you are hit with a language barrier. And at times we felt like we were in the way. The hotel is quite a distance away from the city of Rome and we weren’t told about metro or buses until four days into our week stay. Once we found this out only due to researching online, it made it much easier.

Breakfast was nice for the first few days but became boring quite quickly. Fresh fruit would have been lovely, considering the abundance of fruit markets it was a shame that the fruit was tinned in the restaurant.

The rooms were average, even on the seventh floor, we had a nice view, and the tv worked and we managed to chill out in the evening after a day of walking. The shower is brilliant and the room itself was very well kept and clean. The beds though were uncomfortable and did debate sleeping on the floor some times. The free WiFi was hit and miss and sometimes worked great and others kept dropping out and couldn’t use it at all, but mostly it stayed useable.

The staff were well presented and those that were hospitable and polite we thank you for making the stay a bit easier, as first time Rome adventurers, it would have been nice to have a bit more help and guidance. It’s a good job for the internet and phones.

One of the evenings we decided to try the restaurant out, the pasta was amazing and cannot fault that, but being bunched up close to strangers felt uncomfortable and the experience with the evening restaurant staff was unnerving because they spoke very very little English and weren’t obligingly or questions. The pasta came out very quickly and out second dish cake out after an hour of waiting.

Overall we had a reasonable stay in the hotel but will be finding a hotel closer to amenities.

We stayed for four days in a "budget" room.

The staff were excellent - very friendly and helpful. The food, restaurant and lounge areas were all very good.

Our room was not up to 4 star standard. The first room we were allocated smelled of smoking. This was quickly changed to a fresh smelling room, but after a couple of days, the fresh smell wore off and we could start to smell stale smoke. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. The bedroom lighting was dim. The shower was tiny, with a fixed overhead shower, so it was impossible to avoid being doused with cold or very hot water, whilst regulating the water temperature. The toilet was so close to the wash basin that a very large or less flexible person could struggle. Sound proofing is not good. We could clearly hear sounds from the corridor and other rooms.

The hotel is located 10 minutes walk away from bus stops. The bus takes 30 to 40 minutes into the city centre, so the journey, including the walk to the bus stop and wait for the bus could take an hour or more. The buses are uncomfortable and we usually had to stand.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay but felt let down by the below-standard bedroom.

Room Tip: Find out which rooms have been updated. You may have to pay a supplement.

Rude Reception Staff. Not great for late arrivals. Extremely far away from tourist spots. Very outdated. Floor 1 might have been refurbished but the rest needs renovating. Find another place closer to the City.
