I agree with the previous review, the walls are amazingly thin. I could hear guests in the next room waking up and moving around. Also the was a noisy bunch of drunks outside the hotel on both nights so we were very sleep deprived. The high wooden ceilings were a plus but the lightings in the room was not enough. Bathroom also quite small. Rabih was very dependable on providing tourist information. This hotel would be a grade up from a hostel but not a luxurious hotel. The location was great but breakfast is served only in the rooms and was lacking in variety and quality. I would recommend to have breakfast outside the hotel and would only recommend the hotel to friends who are looking for simple affordable accomodation.

We stayed at the Hotel Teatro Pace for 5 nights (Dec 20-Dec 25). As other reviewers said, the hotel is located in a great spot, in walking distance to all main attractions. The area is quite charming and there is plenty of small restaurants and shops, very lively at night. The room was quite nice as well, large for European standards, and with a good bathroom (small shower though). The main problem was noise. You could hear everything through the walls. I mean everything (it was funny sometimes). Breakfast is delivered to your room on a tray so when people start getting their breakfast you feel you're in the middle of their conversation. The staff was friendly but of the guys was 'too helpful'. He made reservations for us at a restaurant on the day of our arrival, we were all jet-lagged and really didn't understand that the reservation was for that night. We didn't go and then the next day he interrogated us about why we didn't show up. He said he called the restaurant to check if we went or not. The conversation was awkward and I found myself trying to justify why we didn't go, which is not what I want to do when I'm on vacation. Overall, I'll recommend the hotel for his location and the quality of the accommodations but be aware of the thin walls.

We stayed for eight nights in this charming, little hotel in Rome and it was absolutely wonderful... The building itself is beautiful and the rooms have very old-world feel, yet with all modern comforts... Our room (#201) had stunning wood ceiling and a large window overlooking the street... The location is perfect... The area is full of quaint shops and lively trattorias... Piazza Navona is just two minutes walk from here... In fact, it is so right in the center of the historic area that most museums/attractions are an easy walk from this location...

The staff is most helpful and quite knowledgable about their city... Even when they didnt know something, they made an effort to look it up and remembered to pass on the information to us... They helped us reserve time slot at Galleria Borghese as well... Enrico, Katarzyana and Rabih, who are at front desk, always were generous with their help... We could not have asked for more...!

If you like intimate hotels with character, then this one is just perfect...

Could not have asked for a better staff.....Rabih was like our personal assistant, always ready to help! Huge beautiful bedroom with balcony. It's true there are many stairs to climb but for us it was well worth it. We love the intimacy of a small hotel and we would come back here for sure and recommend it very highly. Location is excellent, minutes to Piazza Navona. No need to travel to restaurants, they are right outside your door, one better than the next.

Stayed 2 nights in Teatro Pace Hotel Oct. 9-10, 2010...GREAT HOTEL! Staff courteous and helpful. No restaurant or bar on-site, but wasn't missed and freshly baked chocolate filled crossiant delivered to room for breakfast added to charm (more on breakfast later in review.) No elevator (lift), so request lower floor room if climbing is an issue. Our 4th floor room was wonderful, once we climbed the 92 steps of the winding, circular staircase (made our stay more memorable). Each landing contains approx. 25 steps; rooms located at landings. LOCATION is in district of cobblestoned, narrow alleys dating back to Middle Ages. Hotel can be a bit difficult to locate, but well worth the search! BE WARNED: If arriving by taxi from train station--fare should be approx 13 euros. ask for Fare Cost before boarding taxi. Beware of unscroupulous taxi drivers who may try to inflate cost of taxi ride and/or exchange paper currency given to them for a lower amount of currency of the same color of paper. I suggest you hold paper currency in your hand so that both you and driver can see the designated amount before you hand the money over to driver!
IN SPITE OF THIS: HOTEL IS A GEM! By day: alleyways filled with small boutiques/By night a hub of outdoor cafes and bars steps away from the hotel's door. Yet, no noise problems!
Hotel room was clean, spacious, and charming with an exposed beam ceiling. Our 4th floor room even had a small balcony overlooking a courtyard below. Bathroom exceptionally clean, but shower a bit small, much like the one on the cruise ships.
Hotel is located in walking distance to major sites & attractions: 30-40 minute walk to Castel Sant'Angelo and St. Peters Square, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Via Condi--15 or so minutes to Piazza Navona & The Pantheon.
Breakfast is minimal, but DELICIOUS--warm chocolate filled crossaints, jam, butter, hard crust roll, maybe wedge of cheese, juice, and coffee/tea/or chocolate. One wakes to smell of croissants freshly baking early in the AM. Wonderful to know they will be delivered to your room at your requested time.
When checking out, desk clerk ordered taxi and it picked us up right outside the hotel's door.
Some car traffic along alleyways, as well as lot of scooters!
If we make a second trip to Rome, would definitely reserve a room for my stay. May even request 4th floor again!
