This place is not on the main tourist trail, but is definitely worth a visit. The gallery has some great art work in there. The café is reasonably priced and the park is a lovely place to relax and let children let off steam. There is a train that takes you around the park, or if you are brave enough hire a bicycle car. It was so funny watching people try to go different ways. Great place to visit.

Of all the places I have visited in Rome, the Galleria Borghese and the surrounding it are my favorite. The trees in the park are beautiful and the walk through it is very relaxing. Inside the gallery itself are some fantastic examples of classic Roman sculptures. The sculpture of Apollo and daphne is one of the most stunning I’ve seen. If you enjoy classic era and pre-renaissance art, this is the place to go.

We were keen to see the art works and the mosaics here and were not disappointed. The mosaics were complete and left nothing to the imagination. Well worth the visit and a beautiful park to walk in on the way from the centre.

I used to visit this museum often, on my way back from school. It is, without a doubt, one of the best museums in Europe. The sculptures and paintings are second to none, breathtaking. These priceless treasures are all presented in a exquisite building designed to enhance their beauty and impact. The recent renovations and restoration of the artworks have been brilliantly done.

The online booking process is expensive, inefficient and unnecessary. Pick a time when the tourist hoards are thinning and the Italians are eating or sleeping. Two hours before closing is good. You can then just rock up and buy a ticket. Remember you cannot take any kind of bag in so put your valuables in your pockets. If you want an audio guide, the bad tempered staff will take your ID without any human interaction and hand it back later after a long wait if you stand in a queue. I wouldn’t bother, the works speak for themselves and you can read up about them before or after.

So make sure you go. Ignore the humans on the desk or the staff in each room as they are more interested in their phones anyway. Just concentrate on engaging with these extraordinary artworks, imprinting them in your memory.

You must book this in advance. I didn’t have time so not this trip. I went when it first reopened. There is a famous statue of Napoleons sister. It is a beautiful building and a treasure. On the last visit the staff was so rude I really don’t mind not getting in! You should book it if you can as they limit the amount of people to protect the art. If you book and go at your appointed time all should be well.
