We spent 6 nights at the Lilliput hostel in our visit to Rome. The place is well located and clean but that is all when it comes to positive remarks.
Our flight landed in Rome with a small delay, and the owner Giorgio made us pay 20 euro extra just because we arrived one hour later than the latest "check-in". We spend >500 Euro in this cheaply refurbished flat (I would not call this a B&B or a hostel) and the least they could have done is not to charge us for one extra hour wait.
The place is basically an old appartment with three rooms reconverted into a "hostel". The isolation across rooms is unexisting (we could clearly hear the conversations of people next door) and the one cleaning lady that took care of the appartments kept coming in and out of the very small hall making significant noise in the morning (we believe she just wanted to check whether we had left the room). Definitely not the right place if you are looking for some intimacy. One of the days we were there, the cleaning was simply not done.
We booked this place looking at the price and a remark saying: "breakfast included". This consists of a plastic packed industrial croissant, a tetra-packed juice and ONE capsule of coffee (one for each day of your stay), to be prepared in a falling appart coffee machine that was about to die by the time we were there.
All in all, VERY LOW value for money. We recommend spending a few Euros more per night and enjoy this wonderful city in a real accommodation.
