What a disappointment.
Hotel looked great price/value wise. Wasn't too expensive and still based very central and near the city. And if you like a walk.. within walking distance from most of the tourist attractions like the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Forum Romanum etc.
But once we got there. It was awful. Rooms looked very clean and comfortable on the pictures but it was totally the opposite. Was also very hard to find(it has 2 areas). Breakfast area was same as reception area with just a few chairs moved and placed again. No bright light.. not comfortable and just didn't match what they've written down on booking.com and the room was ugly and had a lot of features missing. Definitely in need of a refurbishment. We actually paid for one night but didn't stay and looked for another hotel which ticked all the boxes. We would have had an awful holiday if we would have stayed there and knew we had to go back to that hotel and room after a long day of walking and exploring. Just wouldn't recommend it at all. Not even to my worst enemy ;).

When we arrived at Termini station the hotel was about a 10 minute walk. It was dark when we arrived and we were unable to locate the hotel. Fortunately, a local policeman provided us directions. Upon our arrival at the Palma Residence, I was greeted by the receptionist he was friendly and polite.

Pros:
- Staff are friendly.
- Included breakfast was decent: Pastry, juice and a hot drink.
- Location is very good, near Termini Station and a short walk to other amenities.
- En suite bathroom.
- Fridge and safe in room.
- Bed made and room cleaned every day.

Cons:
- Towels were clean but stained and ripped.
- Pillows are thin and worn out.
-Bed slightly uncomfortable.
- Air–con system is very old. Takes ages to warm up the room.
- Noisy - BRING EAR PLUGS. Walls are paper thin; the first night we stayed here I was unable to get much sleep due to the person next door snoring/traffic. The second night, I was able to sleep well due to exhaustion. The third night a resident next door left their television on all night. Fourth night was pleasant because I don’t think anyone stayed next door. Wake up to people talking loudly in the hall way in the early hours of the morning. Traffic is loud outside this hotel.

Summary:
In conclusion the Palma residence is good if you’re on a tight budget and want to explore Rome. The location is very good because it’s close the Termini Station. The amount of noise is the biggest downside. As a couple, we would not stay here again. However, if you’re travelling in a small group or going solo, Palma Residence may be ideal due to location, price and friendly staff. There are many hotels surrounding Palma Residence and various restaurants, I would recommend checking out your options and weighing up whether you want to stay here. If you do decide to stay here, bring a set of ear plugs.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms noisy

We have just returned from staying at this hotel, it was not the one we booked and it took us a while to find it. We had a ground floor room and the walls are very thin, I did not sleep well for 3 nights and had to bang on the walls either side of our room to get any peace also was woken up at 6.30am by the next room talking very loud. The room was very clean and the staff were very helpful and it is very close to the railway terminal and bus station. The pillows we had were not very comfortable and as I usually take my own I noticed it more. If noise doesn't bother you its great but we wouldn't return

Room Tip: upstairs rooms less noisy

Palma residence is few minute’s walk from termini station so it is situated on a very good location . I stayed there in summer 2015.
My friends and I rented quadruple ensuite room on the ground floor. Price of the room was very reasonable (about 20 euro per person- breakfast included). Room was cleaned every day.
Staff was very helpful; we could leave our baggage near reception on the first and last day.
Breakfast was served in café nearby. It was very simple but tasty (coffee and sweet pastry).
Only minus is that we booked a room that does not have balcony.
I think that this „hotel“( it is more like apartment in building) is very good choice for budget travelers
and I would stay in this hotel again.

The staff was friendly. The rooms looks good. Its near to Termini station. Wifi connection is good. No car voice. But we were in the ground floor and it was sometimes difficult to sleep at night due to the noise.
