A suggestion for this little gem popped up on Facebook as I was loading pictures from our visit to the Vatican. Thought we'd give it a go as it was so close and had great reviews. What we found was a tiny, rustic bar in a side street offering freshly cooked porchetta sandwiches and very reasonably priced, cold beer. The owner was very friendly and made suggestions of which choice to have. He suggested Nos 4 and 5 on the menu and we were not disappointed. He even served them with half each on a plate for us so that we could share! We were lucky enough to grab a couple of stools and had enjoyed the cheapest yet most enjoyable lunch here, whilst we were in Rome. In so many restaurants, you are unsure if you're being overcharged. Not here. Really worth a stop if you're visiting the Vatican and want something authentic, cheap and informal for lunch. Fantastic!
