I have very mixed feelings about this hotel. Firstly we booked through a tour company who told us it was a 4 star hotel - this it is definitely not. It is a 3 star hotel and looks and feels like a 3 star hotel. When we checked in at 4pm we were shown to our room which had not been made up yet - surely one of the basics is to check whether the room has actually been made up before taking your new guests through. As the room was not ready we were then shown to another room which was apparently a superior room (the first room being a standard). There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the superior room (but there were in the standard room). As it was quite warm we tried to put the aircon on but it did not switch on - on enquiry at reception we were told the aircon is only switched on in July as it is not hot enough in May to run the aircon - surely this would be the guests decision as to whether they require the aircon or not? I do agree with a previous reviewer that the pictures of this hotel and its rooms on the website definitely do not match up! No bar and no lounge area.

The breakfast was also sold to us as a full breakfast (again by the tour company not the hotel) and it definitely is not a full breakfast - no hot meal available. There was very little fresh fruit available, every day the offering was tinned fruit.

On the plus side the metro station is within easy walking distance as is the Vatican City. However, if you are in Rome to do all the other historical sites it would probably be better to stay over the Tiber river in a more central location.

There are loads of restaurants around the hotel, we ate out about 4 times in the area and each one was fabulous.

We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights, the price was very good and photo's looked great. The hotel is what you'd expect from a 3 star hotel. The location is very good and easy to reach by metro. It's at walking distance from Vatican and piazza del popolo. There are a lot of great restaurants and shops nearby.
However, the rooms are not really what you see in the photo's of the hotel. Our room was in another building, so we had to walk to the main building for breakfast. The roof terrace at the main building is great and has a lovely view. The breakfast was ok, but around the corner are a lot of great places to eat a way better breakfast! The room we stayed in was clean, but also old and used.
For the price this hotel was good, compared to others. It's a ok hotel for a small budget citytrip!

First night we arrived at 01.00, We were told there was a problem with our prebooked and prepaid room (5 months). The transfer taxi took us to another hotell with less standard for the first night. The day after we had to walk with our luggage for two blocks over old bumby sidewalks to get to our "real" hotel.
First night our AC didnt work but they fixed it the second day. But it lasted 24 hours then it broke down again and it was to late in the evening to get it fixed for the last night.
I will never stay there again.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for writing a review on our structure, let us answer them with the certainty of clarifying the doubts that will arise in who will read his comment.

The HoteB Place, besides being refreshingly refurbished, is famous for offering a rich breakfast each morning with cakes and artisan cakes, such as homemade biscuits, freshly baked croissants and our high quality cafeteria.
We do not intend to boast too much but our guests love us because it is an example of care in design, from furnishings to room layout, from the warm atmosphere of the common ambience to the Italian style that defines the style.

On the official site of the B Place you can view and evaluate our services thanks to all the high definition pictures available, I would like to emphasize that they are official and untouched photos that show in detail the unique features of our structure without deception.

I hope I have run into any doubt about who else will read skeptically this review, so "absolutely" critical, so as to make a mistake of identifying the structure.

Are we talking about the B Place?

We stayed in the hotel annex down the road (Room 7D). The room was small, but comfy – perfectly fine as a base from where to explore central Rome. We walked from there to Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, the Spanish steps and the Vatican (super convenient from there). The hotel is located close to a metro stop (once you know where it is) and many bus stops.

We enjoyed the lovely breakfast deck at the main hotel – but protect your breakfast from the gulls!

Highly recommend the restaurant just two doors down from the annex. Superb food!

The only cons were the limited (pretty non-existent) wifi in the annex & the useless hairdryer (but I have yet to find a decent hair dryer in any hotel across the world).

First the good - Location, you are just 2 blocks from a subway stop and a 15 minute walk from the Vatican; the hotel is clean and in a safe area; and finally the breakfast area was very nice and the buffett was also pretty good.

Now the bad - Wifi was terrible, small rooms and bathrooms (my toilet had a wall facing it so it was a very tight fit), the shower head provided 2 streams of water, and there was not a chair of any kind in the room, just the bed.

This is my 4th trip to Rome and I would rate this as the third best place that I've stayed at. Again not all bad, but I could have probably done better. To finish on a good note, the price was not bad especially for the busy tourist season.
