This hotel is centrally situated in a pedestrian street, close to several cafes and restaurants and less than 10 minutes walk from the quayside. Our rooms were fairly small but cosy rather than cramped. They were stylishly furnished in a traditional, unfussy manner. Lighting, air-con and plumbing all worked perfectly. The only negative point was the tiny shower - about the size of a telephone booth. There was a safe in the wardrobe, which had plenty of hanging space but was short on shelves.
For a fairly small hotel (47 rooms) there is a generously sized lounge (with newspapers) and a large restaurant for breakfast. The breakfast buffet was enormous. After several days of meat-heavy Italian cuisine, we particularly appreciated the fruit, and hot and cold vegetable dishes available at breakfast.
Reception staff were friendly and efficient; aways greeting guests as they arrived and departed. There was the usual drawback of only one small lift, which could be a problem if the hotel is full.More
