Nice location, excellent service, relaxing stay, though didn't get round to using the spa. Restaurant serves good, fresh food. Only niggle was the room air conditioning controls which I couldn't work out.

We had booked an overnight stay at this hotel on our drive up from Southern Italy. We enjoyed our stay so much booked another night as didn't want to leave. We had notified the hotel we would be arriving by car so they notified the police at the entrance to the gate across the bridge into the castle walls to allow us to drive up to the hotel. This all went very smoothly & the free valet service worked brilliantly. Check in was efficient & our bags were taken up to our room. We were in the building where the spa is located. Our room was nice & overlooked the square. The weather wasn't too good the day we arrived so we spent the afternoon in the spa which was delightful. Hector was very nice & showed us around. Breakfast was delicious fresh strawberries this time of year! We love Sirmione so made the most of our short stay but managed to get back into the spa again the next day & enjoyed sampling Filipo's special cocktail. All in all a very nice stay & would definitely stay there again. The only person who let the whole team down was a rather surly barman in the lounge bar.

Stayed here for a week. We had paid a little extra for a superior room, which was in the spa building and overlooked the boat harbour and the lake towards Desenzano. It was well worth the cost - the room was quite big, very comfortable and with loads of storage space, and the south-facing balcony with table and chairs made sitting and watching the world go by very tempting! On the other side of the hotel - you can take a shortcut through the bar and terrace - is the ferry landing stage, very convenient for taking a trip to one of the other towns. The room was serviced twice a day and kept spotlessly clean and tidy - thank you, Fatima, you were the best member of staff we met!

The hotel breakfasts were excellent - it's buffet style and ranges across fresh fruit, cold cuts and cheeses, all kinds of breads and rolls, boiled eggs and hot items such as bacon and scrambled eggs. One slight oddity is that coffee is brought to the table but you have to make your own tea, which the waiter didn't bother to tell me on the first morning - eventually figured it out myself.

Because we were tired after a very early start, on our first evening we ate in the hotel restaurant. My advice: don't! Being allergic to shellfish/seafood, I struggled to find something on the menu, and ended up with a couple of slices of bresaola (air-dried beef) followed by a small whole grilled cheese (a bit like a Camembert) with a few vegetables. Pudding was a choice between very creamy tarts or fresh fruit. It was a very disappointing meal which left me hungry, and we didn't eat there again, with so many excellent restaurants close by in the town.

A lunch menu is available on the terrace, which is another lovely place to watch the ferries coming and going. One day I had a basic pizza, which was fine if not outstanding. However, another day I asked the waiter if I could have a plain toasted cheese sandwich - there was a ham and cheese one on the menu, but I don't eat pork - fully expecting the waiter to nod, but what he said was "No". His explanation was that the sandwiches came ready prepared, but really, if a 4* hotel cannot put together two slices of bread with some cheese for a guest, then it isn't doing its job.

The other downside was that although our room had the lovely views, it proved to be very noisy, especially in the early mornings (and I mean 5 a.m.). On at least three mornings, what sounded like a chainsaw started up and kept going for over an hour, whilst a number of construction- related lorries were unloaded in the car park across the harbour. You might want to bring earplugs! Or maybe a room at the front would be quieter.

All in all, the hotel offered a lot, especially in terms of location, but didn't quite reach 'excellent' for me.

Stayed in this hotel mid September. Room was in the Spa centre and overlooked the square. Room was "Tired", could probably do with refurbishment soon. Having said that it had everything we needed and was kept clean and tidy by the maid service.

Staff were friendly and efficient

There were plenty of choices at breakfast to suit everyone

We enjoyed the outdoor spa pool and facilities

We loved sitting by the water enjoying an aperitif before heading out to one of the many restaurants in town for dinner.

Room Tip: If you can afford it, opt for a room with a terrace and lake view.

This lovely hotel is right on Lake Garda, very convenient for catching the ferry to other locations on the lake. We arrived on a public bus from Verona and the hotel was just a few minutes walk away. There are boat hire and boat trips available very close to the hotel and the most wonderful part about the location is that the hotel is just a couple of minutes walk from Castello Scaligero.
The hotel is very clean and comfortable with it's own spa area, consisting of a sauna, jacuzzi, outdoor pool and shower pathway. There is a good range of seating available both indoor and outdoor. The spa is wonderfully relaxing can refreshments can be purchased and charged to your room. Towels and swimming caps are provided.
There are many restaurants, shops and bars nearby. A lovely viewpoint near a large site containing ancient ruins is a short walk away. All in all the location is excellent.
