This is a very special hotel, unlike any other place I have been before.
It is a beautiful historic building in Stresa in front of the Lake with a beautiful view on the Borromean Islands.

Our room was beautifully decorated , with a nice garden view.
It was very clean and spacious with a comfortable bed.
Maybe only the pillows were not very comfortable but it wasn’t a big deal.

The SPA was very nice. With a very enjoyable pool, sauna and Turkish bath it was perfect to relax after a day of sightseeing.

The common areas were very well kept and all the people working in the hotel were super professional and helpful.

We enjoyed dinner at the restaurant and we thought it was pretty good.
The quality of our dishes was excellent, maybe portions were a bit too small and there was not a vegetarian choice from the fixed menu we had chosen for our half board.
Breakfast was also good with great quality products, also here maybe we could have enjoyed more choices of cakes and sweet things.

It was a special weekend and I think this hotel totally deserves the five starts.
Would love to come back again and I think we will soon!

Those who like hotels like Georges V in Paris will feel at home here. The interior architecture reminded me of the Loire castles, Versailles or even Neuschwanstein.
The spa is amazing, I have never seen anything like it anywhere before.
The outdoor pool is very spacious and also very quiet.
But if you want to have an omelette for breakfast, you have to pay separately.
And if you want to order more than two capuccinos, you have to be very insistent, which made me feel embarassed. In a street café you are treated much better.
The breakfast was not an event at all, like in other 5 stars hotels in Spain, Germany or the UAE.
All in all we were satisfied with our stay.

We stayed here almost at the end of our month long European vacation. We stayed at all 5 star hotels and we agreed this was the best of all of them.
The location of the hotel is terrific right across the street from the lake. You look at it and see a beautiful building and hope the rooms measure up to the outside.
We drove in and right away a bellman came for our luggage. The front desk person was professional and friendly. We were early so our room wasn’t ready yet and he suggested we have lunch in the restaurant. Before our lunch was brought to us we were informed our room was ready whenever we were.
We finished our lunch and went to the front desk. We noticed all the ceilings are hand painted and there was a huge Murano fixture in the main lobby.
We got to our suite which had a nice living room, a great marble bathroom and a huge king size bedroom overlooking Lake Maggiore! It was perfect.
They have a nice gym, pools and a great spa.
The staff were all wonderful!

We just got back from celebrating my birthday at the Grand Hotel. What an amazing experience. The front desk and concierge were very friendly and helpful. They really go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. We are from the US and are just blown away from the services at the hotel and it’s restaurants. We are already looking to plan our trip back to this hotel very soon. Thank you to all the staffs. You really made my birthday super special. Lifetime memory.

Room tip: If you are celebrating any special occasion, let them know in advance

I just stayed here for the second time , the hotel is lovely and the staff friendly . We had dinner in the restaurant (booked in advance) which was very good with great service.
My room was not huge but I booked the cheapest level and did not expect a lake view! Turn down service is still automatic here , many stopped during pandemic.
I did not have chance to use the spa but from a quick look it is lovely, I plan to return for a longer stay.
Breakfast was good despite previous comments otherwise!
I suggest booking via hotel’s own website as many hotels give better rooms to those that do
