Nice little restaurant - the problem is that all food is halted starting 1500 till 1900 and you may order only soft drinks

The location is very good. The views of the Orta lake is beautiful. I took a pizza but it was not so good (the pizza was dry and the crust was over cooked)

Went there with 2 small families and a dog and service couldn't have been better.

Nice safe area for kids to play outside with soft ground and designated play area.

Both kids and dog got great service, as did we. Felt welcomed from moment we stepped in thanks to our attentive and friendly waitress.

Won't be the best place you've eaten nor the cosiest but they have every pizza you can think of and mine was very tasty (Italian sausage and leek for just ~8 euro). Pizza for 4, appetisers, drinks all for ~65 euro.

Would definitely go back.

We generally go to Il Pozzo when we are visiting as it does very good Pizzas at a fair price. Further into Orta itself of course the prices go up and I would say the Pizza becomes less authentic.

It is true that Il Pozzo caters very well for the locals and to be honest unlike most of the other restaurants / bars in Orta this is because it is open for most of the year. In the depths of Winter Il Pozzo is still generally rammed full in the evenings and they seem to provide lunch for the local school children in the day too.

Some of the staff can seem a little austere but I have noted this is when foreign tourists attempt zero Italian. I suggest giving Il Pozzo a go and you might actually love it. If you are a tourist just don't expect them to fawn all over you like other establishments would.
