Great location in the main piazza and accessible to restaurants, shops, gelateria, ferries. Long-standing family owned hotel and restaurant with the matriarch very present during breakfast, lunch and dinner. Evident that the family cares about what they do, very professional but so friendly and helpful. Restaurant is fantastic - we ate there twice and excellent choice, quality and value. Family members work in the hotel and restaurant and understand hospitality. Rooms and bathrooms excellent - clean and in great condition. Definitely will return as they make you feel so welcome. Excellent value for money for accommodation, cocktails, wine and food. Located right on the edge overlooking the lake with magical views at night. Beautiful terrace area for dinner and breakfast. Breakfast service was fantastic with the male manager hovering and being so hospitable. Great example of Italian hospitality.

Room tip: Smokers still allowed in outside areas - ask for non smoking section if having dinner. The steak for two served on hot stone is excellent.

We attended a wedding in late August and stayed here for 5 nights, along with most of the other guests.
For a three star it surpassed our expectations. Room 201 had an amazing view across the lake as well as a shared terrace. The location was great - right near the main square. Breakfast was a good choice.
One member of staff who stood out as exceptional was Barbara (receptionist). Nothing was too much trouble. This hotel/location gives you a genuine flavour of real Italy.

We traveled here and stayed two nights. A delightful and helpful staff. The hotel is a quaint clean spot that offers lovely rooms with updated bathrooms. The main desk is fully staffed and everyone speaks English, German, French and Italian. The breakfasts are generous with a full selection of breakfast foods. The restaurant has delicious local specialties and a nice selection of wines.
I have no reservation recommending this gem by the lake.

I can not praise the Hotel Leon d'Oro d'Orta enough. My Daughter got married at Lake Orta late August and the wedding party and the majority of the guests stayed here.
The service we received was amazing with special reference to Barbra who saved the wedding day when it started to rain - she acted so kindly and provided solutions to the problem and the day went without a hitch - thank you.
The rooms were beautiful with traditional Italian fresco and decor and the whole Hotel was spotlessly clean - the housekeeping staff worked very hard and were obliging to every request.
It is worth staying here just for the Lake view from the breakfast terrace, it starts the day beautifully as does the continental style breakfast.
I would also recommend a meal in the restaurant and pre-booking is advised, the view of the Lake and mountains is stunning and the food was freshly cooked and exceptional.
Thank you for making my Daughter's special day so magical

Room tip: 207 has a lovely view of the lake

We had pasta, wine, coffee and grappa.
The food was mediocre - uninspired.
The service was uninterested.
The location is very nice with view of Isola San Giulio.
Compared to the evening we had the day before at Ai due Santi it was a little cheaper, but a great disappointment.
