We have just returned from our honeymoon in Venice June 2012 and stayed at the Hotel Canal Grande. We have stayed in many 5 star hotels around the world and found the Hotel Canal Grande to be of an exceptionally high standard of not only quality, but what is required of hotels is that added extra touch, customer service. We at all times throughout our 10 day stay, the customer service was always at a very high impeccable standard and faultless from the daily chamber maids to waiting-on staff to the reception staff and management.
They were at all times extremely courteous, very friendly and made the experience of our honeymoon an extremely memorable one and will never be forgotten.
Regarding the Continental breakfast which is officially served between 7am and 10am, we found on several days that coming down for breakfast around 10am we were never advised that breakfast had actually finished and in fact, they did go that extra mile and if something wasn't available, it was prepared fresh for us at no extra charge.
For those people who give this hotel a bad rating, you really need to get a life and obviously are not happy unless they are complaining!!
