This hotel was in a good location and easy to find. I can imaging many of the other hotels in Venice would be hard as it is easy to get lost down all the streets. This hotel was only a short walk from the docks.

The rooms were nothing special as are most of the rooms in venice. Many nights there were people talking in the streets and I did have trouble sleeping becaus of this. There were a couple restaurants just outside and it started to quiet down around 12-1AM.

This hotel has a great, easy location and is a great value. If your travel group includes people who can't do too much walking, you should consider this hotel. ( There is an elevator.) The hotel is comfortable. The rooms are decent sized, clean and quiet (but not pretty.) The breakfast was satisfactory and plentiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It's not a glamorous hotel but for two nights it served our purposes very well.

Like most things in Venice it was a little hard to find but once we figured out the location, this was a great hotel. Rooms were very clean and well appointed, pleasant service from the staff, and right around the corner from Piazza San Marco. The breakfast was pretty much what you would need and seemed typical for hotels in Italy. I would stay there again if I go back to Venice.

The reasonable price of 95 euros/night and the location of the Commercio & Pelegrino hotel -3 minutes away from Piazza San Marco and just steps away from the San Zaccaria vaporetto stop- were the main reasons we chose to stay there. However, we were first given a room (no 403) which was unbelievably small. (I bet it was originally a single room). The window was next to something like a chimney and the temperature of the room was so high (27C!!!) that we had to sleep with the window open (outside temperature at night was below 10C). Next day, we were moved to another room (no 404) of reasonable size. Bathrooms in both rooms were OK. Hairdryer is of the old type (hose) and takes ages to dry your hair, so it's a good idea to bring yours... The buffet breakfast is poor and depressing. The free afternoon tea &cookies is nothing special, and certainly not something you should alter you plans for. Overall, if you are looking for a no-frills place, very conveniently located, you may consider this. The price we paid was good for Venice standards, but it was completely off season. In the high season, when price is doubled, you may consider staying elsewhere.

Stayed with my girlfriend and both of our parents last year. This is a fine hotel not amazing - friendly staff clean rooms, nice touch that they do free afternoon drinks and biscuits (although this is at a rather annoying time of day to get back to you're hotel if you're out and about exploring Venice). It was a bit noisey in the morning from the street (the Hotel Danielli, which is a stones through away, was having some work done) and we had two twin beds pushed together for our double room, but the key is the price and the location seriously elevates this hotel above the rest. Why would you pay more to stay in Venice (which costs enough already) when you can base yourself here - right by the Straw Bridge and San Marco's with a vaporetta stop 5mins away. The old Greek quarter is with in easy walking distant and also lovely. SOme great restaurants just round the corner too
