Ai Tagliapietra was a perfect choice for our first trip to Venice, IT. Lorenzo Tammaseo met us at the boat stop of the Alilaguna Blue Line at San Zaccaria. He escorted us to his B&B. This was essential because the neighborhoods in Venice are a maze of narrow streets and small bridges. The 4 bedroom B&B is easily accessible from the street, and up a stairway. You enter in the dining and kitchen area to which all four rooms connect. Lorenzo occupies one of the rooms. The B&B is well appointed, and we had our own immaculate bathroom. The AC works well, and the WiFi is as good as advertised. Lorenzo was helpful in giving us suggestions for shopping, dining, and touring in Venice. He was also immediately accessible by phone, which was quite reassuring for us. The breakfast Lorenzo provided for us was ample. The B&B is very close to the waterfront, San Marcos Square, and the Doges Palace. Linda and I would go to the nearby grocery, stock up on reasonably priced food, and eat at the B&B when we had had enough of the plentiful restaurant fare. When my baggage was "lost" for 24 hours, there was a small sports shop near by where I bought a shirt and underwear to get by. A laundromat was around the corner, where we did a load of laundry prior to getting on our cruise ship for our Mediterranean excursion. Our three day stay at Ai Tagliapietra was superb.
