Ai Tagliapietra was a perfect choice for our first trip to Venice, IT. Lorenzo Tammaseo met us at the boat stop of the Alilaguna Blue Line at San Zaccaria. He escorted us to his B&B. This was essential because the neighborhoods in Venice are a maze of narrow streets and small bridges. The 4 bedroom B&B is easily accessible from the street, and up a stairway. You enter in the dining and kitchen area to which all four rooms connect. Lorenzo occupies one of the rooms. The B&B is well appointed, and we had our own immaculate bathroom. The AC works well, and the WiFi is as good as advertised. Lorenzo was helpful in giving us suggestions for shopping, dining, and touring in Venice. He was also immediately accessible by phone, which was quite reassuring for us. The breakfast Lorenzo provided for us was ample. The B&B is very close to the waterfront, San Marcos Square, and the Doges Palace. Linda and I would go to the nearby grocery, stock up on reasonably priced food, and eat at the B&B when we had had enough of the plentiful restaurant fare. When my baggage was "lost" for 24 hours, there was a small sports shop near by where I bought a shirt and underwear to get by. A laundromat was around the corner, where we did a load of laundry prior to getting on our cruise ship for our Mediterranean excursion. Our three day stay at Ai Tagliapietra was superb.

Room Tip: All three rooms are wonderful.

This is stop one of our two week Italian vacation. IMHO, the biggest benefit to staying at this B&B is that the host Lorenzo will meet you at the water taxi dock and bring you to the apartment. It's such a stress reliever not getting lost in unfamiliar alleys trying to find your lodging while rolling a bunch of luggage on pebble/stones. We got the room with king bed and a single bed and facing a quiet courtyard. Everything worked well and Lorenzo can install the mosquito repellent for you if requested. There is a mini fridge and a microwave in the kitchen for guests to sue 24/7.
Overall a pleasant place to come back to rest after wondering in Venice all day long.

Just back from weekend staying here. It really is a home from home. You come home at night winding streets ( after you do it once you remember) My second time to stay here. Lorenzo is the perfect host, knowledgeable, quiet and super honest ( there was error in quoted price , he pointed it out to me and charged the correct lower price)
The house is clean, super clean . the rooms are very quiet and beds comfortable. Rooms large and bathrooms and shower also large.
central and quiet . Great home for exploring Venice . Hope to make a third visit :) The Wifi is good , fast and stable ( and free) Breakfast light and tasty, with 100 % coffee to start the day . Don't worry about getting there Lorenzo will meet you at boat stop .
