Small, well run, friendly place. You will need to book in advance and yes, do leave some space for that hazelnut ice cream.

Thank willTho

We spent an evening at Al Covo and had the surprise menu. It was truly a great experience. I won't go into detail what was in it because I don't want to spoil the surprise and mostly because it obviously changes by the season and what is available. It is a fun way to taste different things (that you might haven't even thought yourself).

The wine list was impressive and suggestions were perfect. We really enjoyed every second being at the restaurant.

In the table beside us was a family from Murano island. They told us that they visit Al Covo frequently because they love it. That is a very good recommendation, I think.

We were looking for somewhere to enjoy a celebratory meal and had tried to book a table online in advance. Having then chased the booking we eventually managed to nail down a table for lunch by visiting and speaking to the Maitre De. Off chance we asked if there was a table on that day as well. Our luck was in.
It's not a big menu, but there are genuine specials that are based around the catch of the day.
Having enjoyed 2 lunches there 2 days running, the following.
The food is cooked to perfection and is not clever clever, just well prepared and presented fresh food.
The service was exceptional and very friendly.

The standout was probably soft shell crab and also grilled squid.

Not cheap, but really worth a visit.

Many thanks to the guys serving on the day, you made a great celebration something special.

Found this amazing restaurant online and had to visit. It is located off the main stretch but well worth the visit. This family restaurant is run by an amazing couple. The hazelnut ice cream is one of the best we have ever had. It is home made by a charming American lady who fell in love with an Italian man a long time ago and moved to Italy. What a lovely couple.

Anyway let’s get back to the food, it was fabulous. The ingredients and variety was superb.
