Ristorante Al Covo had been recommended to us before we traveled to Venice, and we learned that one of the owners had grown-up in Texas (where we are from). Upon our arrival, we were greeted and treated like family. This restaurant provides a very comfortable, home-like atmosphere on a quiet side-street near the Grand Canal that gives the perfect street-side ambiance one would expect to enjoy in Venice. The menu selections were creative, yet based on local seafood, meats and produce common to Venice. From appetizers to main courses to dessert, each selection of our group was flavorful and delicious. The wine list offered many locally produced vintages, and staff offered perfect pairings for our food selections. For a wonderful Venesian culinary experience with a soul of Texas hospitality, Al Covo is unbeatable!

This a must visit restaurant in Venice. Every bit of our meal was magnificent but the homely atmosphere created by the owners made our meal an enjoyable experience.

We like this place and you can sit outside in nice weather and enjoy the street ambiance. The food was lovely, but under seasoned and lacking fresh vegetables (other than white asparagus). Nice fresh fish, however.

We went to Al Covo with a friend who is a local. She knows the owner and the staff - so I am sure that helped our experience (though staff seemed attentive to all the diners) From the crunchy mozzarella bread sticks that began the evening through various hors d'heurvres, pastas, mains, veggies, and dessert and wine to die for it was a gastronomical delight.

I am actually NOT a foodie, but friends are so I was along for the ride. Did not disappoint.

This restaurant has an outdoor cafe which is in a very quiet neighborhood. The service is quite polished and professional. Food was prepared to perfection.
