What a treat!
From start to finish this getaway was a delight.

We met Bogdan (a summer intern) on our first night dining at Cucina. Top notch pasta and pizza buffet.

Although we were hesitant about the Photoshoot included in the package,it was casual and fun and we were able to capture precious moments to look back on.

Nikolina and Sara helped to plan a beautiful evening complete with tea lights and rose petals all over the place.

We had a private dinner in the kitchen of the Sapori cooking academy since a storm was brewing. We ate at the most beautiful table made of venetian briccola.

Chef Micki made us dishes that made the taste buds explode with delight while Bogdan kept a discreet watch over us.

Thank you for making this anniversary a trip to treasure.

Dear AgentTraveling, thanks for your review. We are delighted that you enjoyed celebrating an unforgettable anniversary at our magical Isola delle Rose.

We always encourage our guests to tell us beforehand if they are visiting Venice to celebrate a special occasion – whether that be a honeymoon, birthday, anniversary or proposal – so that we can better help you prepare for an unforgettable holiday. One way guests can do this is by responding to our pre-arrival emails or by emailing the property before arrival at info.venice@jwmarriotthotels.com.

Thank you for choosing the JW Marriott Venice and we hope to welcome you back again soon.

All the best,

My wife and I spent three nights at the JW Marriott Venice in early September and very much enjoyed our stay. The resort is on its own island, which is great in many respects but has a few drawbacks. The property is immaculate and has the best service we experienced in Italy - there is an abundance of staff, who are all very friendly and helpful. On the downside, the hotel lacks the historic quality of most other hotels in Venice (though the rooms are spacious and modern), and it's about 30 min by complimentary shuttle to Piazza San Marco, which can make dinner plans in the city more complicated. That said, both dinner restaurants on the property are excellent. We stayed in a first floor room in L’Uliveto, which is a separate building and included a private patio. The room was quite nice and comfortable. Weather permitting, make time to spend by the pool - which has fantastic views. I wish we had been able to spend another night or two, as the raw bar offering looked amazing and the cooking school seemed like a great offering. The only real downsides we experienced were exceptionally high drink prices, no free access the spa (this is complimentary at most similar hotels), and the lack of a shuttle to the airport (water taxi is 140 euro). Note that there is a free shuttle to the train station, which I did not see advertised anywhere, though unfortunately they do not pick up from the train station. My wife is Marriott Platinum, so wifi was free - it's a little ridiculous that they charge some visitors for wifi though. All in all, I think this is a very well run resort and a great place to stay for several nights in Venice. If you're just in Venice for a night or two, I'd stay in town to maximize your time there.

Dear Johnston O, thank you for your detailed review. We appreciate your kind comments about our immaculate property, friendly and helpful staff, excellent restaurants, comfortable rooms and fantastic views.

I have noticed that many guests plan a trip to Venice for only a few nights, but the feedback I have received from all of them afterwards is that they wished they stayed longer. Our guests are pleasantly surprised by the many activities that we have as well as our amazing facilities, such as the GOCO Spa. We always encourage our guests to book a longer stay – at least four or five nights so that they can experience all the wonderful things that we offer.

With regards to you comments about our Wi-Fi, we always encourage our guests to become a Marriott Rewards member so that they have access to complimentary Wi-Fi access in our rooms. Plus it is a great opportunity to get points for your stay.

Thank you for choosing the JW Marriott Venice and we hope to welcome you back again soon.

All the best,

The jazz was great and the service at restaurant was even better. The chef visited our table to inquire about our meal. He was gracious enough to share his preparation of the dishes my wife and I enjoyed. Our special friend also took care of everything we needed. His photo is included.

Let me first say that we love Marriotts and use points anytime we get the chance. So, when the time came to celebrate our anniversary in Italy, we chose JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa. They did not disappoint in terms of service, attention to detail, fantastic food, and really cool vibe at the pool and rooftop bar and restaurant. That being said, you walk into Americana when you get there and you need to appreciate that. There is no typical EU breakfast included and the lobby as well as the rooms and amenities feels very, well, Marriott, which is not bad but it is not quintessential old school Venice. We did that 18 years ago and it is easy to traverse the city and restaurants from your old historic hotel, but it doesn't have the amenities and level of service you will experience here or the ability to get away from the crowds. Can't say enough about the staff, the food, the amenities, and the fantastic water taxi service. Special THANK YOU to all the staff that helped make our private anniversary dinner so special - Guiseppe, Frederiko, and especially Nikolina who made it all happen - it was simply amazing. Our only comment for improvement -- we asked the concierge twice prior to our arrival for Venice restaurant recommendations and each time they focused on the restaurants on property which was surprising and difficult. Easily fixable, but worth a mention. If you want to experience Venice away from the crowds with the comforts of "home" this place is definitely for you! TIP: Cruise ships are allowed to visit now and they are and they bring a special type of challenge to traversing Venice. We received a great tip and pass it along here -- go to Venice either early in the morning or around 3 PM. Shops typically close around 2 PM-3:30 PM so timing works perfectly.

Dear Christine M, thank your for writing a review. We appreciate your generous feedback about our impressive customer service, close attention to detail, fantastic food and cool vibe.

We hope that you were able to check out Dispensa during your stay with us. One of the best things of living in Italy is being able to travel its amazing cities and visit their local markets. The inspiration behind our new concept for Dispensa was our desire to bring all the wonderful and traditional products that you would find in any Italian regional market to our guests. We offer a mouthwatering and affordable selection of salami, prosciutto, cheeses and other delicious delicacies from all over Italy. We also feature our own Olive Oil, made from the olive trees that grow on our property. These can be purchased in convenient travel size bottles so that guests can bring home a unique memento of their stay with us.

Thank you for choosing the JW Marriott Venice and we hope to welcome you back again soon.

Dear 414claudeb, thanks for your review. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay at our resort. We appreciate your kind comments about our attentive service as well as our helpful and amazing staff.

There is so much to do at our magical Isola delle Rose. When the team and I were organizing the excursions that we wanted to provide our guests, we thought of all the things that would be part of the ultimate travel experience of Italy. From interactive cooking classes at our Sapori Cooking Academy to a tour of a traditional Murano glass-making factory, we wanted to showcase our passion for Italy and highlight some of the wonderful and fascinating aspects of its culture and history.

Thanks for recommending us and we hope to welcome you back to our magical Isola delle Rose again soon.
