A charming b&b with a gorgeous little courtyard garden. It's about 10-15 minutes walk to the centre of town. We stayed in 'Bianca' a huge room with a balcony and a beautiful shower room, grey tiles, all very chic. Good wi fi, great coffee and wonderful attention from Antonio, Monica and Matteo. They are a joy to deal with and Antonio answered all my idiotic questions (first visit to Sicily was my excuse!) immediately. Spoil yourselves, go there, it's a gem.

Antonio and family host a charming guest house convenient for the centre to the south and fine dining to the north. All the while the airport is less than a 4 mile taxi away.
It was a perfect charming end to our holiday.

Very pleasant stay. Not far from the city centre with historical monuments. Public transport in vicinity, as well as dining places (really good). Nice rooms and the owner - Antonio is a good spirit of the place, very helpful. His croissants and coffee for breakfast is a "must try". Can definitely recommend as this was my second time there.

Room Tip: The courtyard is lovely with quite fast internet access. Some rooms and dining room (ceilings) are of historical value.

I had a very pleasant stay at Casa Barbero. The facilities and service was good and it was nice with the backyard. The location is perfect if you both want to be quite near the centre, but still easy access to parking for exploring Sicily by car. The metro and Circumetnae are also very close.

Going to Casa Barbero and seeing Antonio and Monica feels like home from home as this is now our third consecutive year we have been to stay.
This time we were using Casa Barbero as a base to explore the area so we caught a bus to Acireale and had a lovely meal at the picturesque fishing village of Santa Maria la Scala and enjoyed train trips to Taormina and Palermo.
Antonio and Monica are warm and generous with their time and local knowledge. Check in is easy - we arrived late so it was ideal that we could let ourselves in. Our flight was late in the day back to the UK and it was no problem to leave our luggage in the breakfast room. Our room was perfect - everything you need is on hand and the bathroom is small, well appointed and contemporary.
It was still warm enough in mid November to have breakfast amongst the greenery of the courtyard which was lovely. Antonio makes a great cappuccino!
Despite knowing Catania pretty well now I’m sure we will be back.

Room Tip: Internal courtyard rooms are quiet.
