Beach is quite nice because it was clean although I'm not sure how much of this should be accredited to the Lido.

The restaurant area is pretty basic as was the food and service. Wouldn't go again but it served its purpose for a quick and cheap meal in the beach area.

Hubby fancied pizza for dinner so we did what most people do and googled Pizza near me and found somewhere a half mile walk from our hotel. On the way there we passed the Lido Arcobaleno which advertised Pizza but we carried on to our chosen restaurant only to find it closed. Decisions, decisions.... do we go to another restaurant across the road where we've been before or head back and take a look at the Lido Arcobaleno. It's not the most impressive looking place from the outside as it's a beach self service restaurant by day, with drink vending machines and a tobacco kiosk but we walked in and headed out towards the beach where the restaurant is set up.
We had to wait a while to even be acknowledged and even then we were told to find our own seats. They weren't busy and I was starting to regret the choice. We sat down and a young waiter appeared with menus and hung around for our drink order of a bottle of water and a carafe of house red (served cold in a 1 litre jug but very good!).
Great choice of food on the menu, all translated into various languages and quite impressive.
We ordered a house seafood platter to share to start with followed by a pizza each. We then sat back and waited for our food.
The seating arrangement is lots of dressed tables and chairs on a large concreted floor area under a fixed awning looking out onto the beach and watching the ferries coming into and leaving the port.
The seafood platter arrived, with additional plates of deep fried fish, calamari and mussels and a basket of bread. It was a huge portion of food even for 2 people to share! Really fresh and very, very good! Thankfully there was a bit of a wait for our pizza - the service is good, just really slow, which suits us just fine coz if we wanted fast food we'd go to..... well we wouldn't!!
The pizzas were fantastic! They have a big wood burning oven and the pizza was hot, fresh and huge! So much so we had to ask for a takeaway box as neither of us could manage more than half. The pizza was still warm when we got back to our hotel and still good the next day cold :)
You really have to try this place, ignore how it looks from the outside knowing you'll get great food and acceptable service inside. To top it off the whole bill was €31 - and that was an absolute bargain! If we'd had more time we would have gone back for more!

Went here with my family for a day on the beach. Paid first for two chairs and a umbrella. Which where okay. It is not really hard to screw that up. For lunch we went to the restaurant which was a very unpleasant and bad experience. Head waiter marched around like a little Mussolini. Terrorizing his staff, pressuring them. He took half our order before taking off, yelling Italian because we werent quick enough with the order. Our spaghetti wasn't cooked properly, hard uncooked pieces on the plate. Lamb meat wasn't grilled properly, ungrilled red pieces in it. Very bad restaurant; not recommended! One star only for chair and umbrella!

We ate here twice during a stay in Catania and loved their pizza. They have a traditional pizza oven, but they fire it up only in the evenings, so you will get pizza only for dinner. The prices were good and the view at sunset is lovely. The service was ok.

Our hotel Le Dune Sicily, suggested the lido for dinner. They have variety of food from fish, pasta, pizza, meat and chicken. The food is delicious but the service is a bit slow since we were 6 people, first they got us 2 plates, after 10min other 3 plates and we had to wait an other 10min for a pizza. Our hotel also provided us with a pass to use the lido during the day but it was very busy and we prefered to use the hotel pool.
