Great place to eat typical italian food. Good prices and good quality in a cozy and small place with nice staff.

We had skipped lunch today to prepare for a big dinner meal. We started with the traditional unsalted bread soaked with Tuscan extra virgin olive oil and topped with with white cannelloni beans and tender kale. This was followed with cauliflower covered with a bechamel cheese sauce, and the main event: a 1kg Florentine steak, always grilled rare, but with no blood. The steak had been aged for 24 weeks and was initially brought to the table, before being grilled, for inspection. The steak was a little chewy and not so melt-in-your-mouth like other steaks we had eaten earlier. The server was extremely polite and quite helpful in suggesting the initial two vegetarian dishes which were superb. We opted for sparkling water in lieu of wine, and finished our dinner with a cannoli.

Small place, very popular but we managed to get in early on a Saturday night. The starters were really disappointing - bruschetta on stale bread with little flavour for the tomatoes and an average liver pate on similar stale bread. But the steaks we had were amazing quality and delicious. We were warned that they would be rare and that was fine for us - the local standard is for rare meat. Accompanied by lovely side dishes of potatoes and aubergines. Strangely they didn;t do coffee and required payment in cash. Overall very good and good value.

Simply the best food you will find in Florence for very reasonable prices. I ate here twice on a recent visit to Florence and could not fault one thing. The staff were very knowledgeable about the food that was served and very attentive. The menu changes every day so it's a bit of mystery to what you will have. Everything was as fresh as possible and cooked to perfection. The house wine is absolutely beautiful. As a tourist you are not always made to feel welcome in certain places but here the staff were very warm and welcoming and did everything they could to make your visit enjoyable. Both nights there were locals eating here as well which is usually a very good sign. I will definitely be going back when I next go to Florence. Word of warning, book if you are going with a party because by 8 pm the place is full.

We were there on Saturday night, so had to book a table in advance, the place is busy. The food was great, and flavorful but a bit salty to our taste.
