Recommended length of visit: <1 hour
Owner description: This 19th century piazza has undoubtedly the best panoramic view of Florence. The square is decorated with copies of Michelangelo's sculptures, but it's the view people come here to see.

First of all make sure you got sensible foot wear it's got a few steps to climb you can stop any where to have a break, when you get to the top it's amazing Michael angelo statue it's brilliant, the views are amazing a little market at the top. We went to a chapel further on that was ok it's a grave yard round the back it's much different that ours that we have over here.

Yes, a beautiful view of Florence BUT:
- full of peolple on the stairs, impossible take a decent photo
- few steps away you have San Miniato with a much better view of Florence, with a memorial cemetery full of artistic statues (also of famous artists)
- the ice cream, water etc is too expensive at the bars/chioscs around

We walked up to this vista point and were not disappointed! We were not able to climb to the top of the Duomo, but in my opinion this is a better view of the city and we also visited a church at the top that was built in 1100's. Very impressive.

Well worth the hike. The view of town is amazing. Arduous though. Go to the monastery and walk through the cemetary.
