I can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet! Dining here was truly one of the most lovely, engaging and memorable food experiences I've had. The tiny restaurant is warm and intimate, matched and raised by the couple who run it - it's been 2 years and sadly I've forgotten their names :( We were greeted by name and felt like old friends when we arrived. There was such joy and love in what they do and how they share their food, wine and passion with you that it felt like a truly special personal experience. We had a charcuterie platter to start (each cheese and meat explained to us, it's origins, source of particular flavours etc); the pesto lasagne and meat lasagne for main, and a dessert. wines were paired by the delightful husband behind the cheese/meat/wine bar and they were divine. It was all delicious, and I still rave about this to anyone visiting Florence.
It has space for 7 people, so book in advance! But go, definitely go.

My wife and I enjoyed a superb meal - appetizers, 1st & 2nd piatti were top notch, as was dessert. There are only 5 tables and we lucked out- came in far earlier than normal Italian dinner (6:30 vs. hours later) and the owners/ waitress - cook were most gracious and accommodating. Make sure you call ahead for a reservation in advance, as the 5 tables fill up fast. A gem in the inner part of Florence.

My wife and I had dinner at Trallalla about two weeks ago, and it was certainly a large disappointment relative to the reviews. I'm truly at a loss when people rave about the cuisine. It is certainly not inedible or even bad, dishes were simple with no particular dish that I would rave about. In order to save time, since the husband and wife team are overwhelmed by the four tables, you will find that numerous dishes will have the exact same vegetable preparation, desserts come on an identical crust with different fillings, etc. The truffles were the worst we had in Italy, despite being in the middle of truffle season. It is important to note for those not acquainted that there are many varieties of truffles, and they come with vastly different price tags - for a reason! The truffles we had were bland to the point that neither of us could taste them when picked off the dish on their own. By comparison the truffles we had at a local Enoteca the prior night were aromatic and flavorful. Perhaps they were near the end of their life, or perhaps one of the cheaper varieties. We had both the black and white truffles with the same results.
Service was awkward and we went long periods without a visit.
The room is very small with extremely small tables and chairs. Very uncomfortable for anyone over 6'. Washroom was clean and well maintained.
Wine was excellent, the highlight of the evening (Pinot Nero from small vineyard north of Florence).
I believe what is happening here is that the owners make sure to talk to customers and be friendly, this comes at a loss of service to the other tables. I'm sure they realize that people they befriend will not be objective and award five stars based on a feeling of doing a favor to the owners.
To summarize - basic dishes, flavorless truffles, poor service and good wine value. Normally I would award 3 stars since there was nothing particularly off-putting, but to combat the ridiculous reviews I will give 2 stars. There are much better places to eat in Florence.

Gentile cliente,
Peccato!

My husband and i had the pleasure of dining here during our time in florence. It was our wedding anniversary so i had spent time researching the perfect spot. We were not disappointed!
Nunzia is a gracious hostess and her husband executed the food to perfection! What a fun and memorable evening. Thank you from Ron and Lisa!

Just 4 tables nestling around a counter make Cacio Vino Trallalla a truly special experience. Of course you have to book in advance, but if you know you're coming to Florence, then a quick email is all you need to check whether you can get a table.

Fortunately for us, October is truffle season, so we had a stunning truffle themed menu. Neither of us could fault the dishes which were traditional Italian cooking at its very best made with high quality, locally sourced ingredients.
