The entry fee includes the city museums as well as the tower. After visiting the tower when you come down the stairs there are rooms to visit ; the Pinacoteca which contains religious art.
More interesting are the moralistic frescoes about love in the Camera del Podestà in the room opposite.

The entrance to the tower and palace complex is fascinating in itself but the view from the tower roof the icing on the cake. The display as you wind your way upstairs is clever, interesting, relevant and well executed. Don't miss out the Pinoteca as the frescos in the bedroom tell a fascinating story.
The €9 all museums ticket is good value and makes you tour the whole town, the nooks and crannies of which are just as interesting as the main attractions

This exceptional view of the surrounding beauty of Tuscany is well worth a visit to San Gimignano if for nothing else

Definitely worth a climb.Great views of medieval walls and surrounding wineries. We visited in string rain, very few people climbing up, but still good experience. Would have given five stars but for a few questionable steps at the very top, but overall not a hard climb.
On the way down definitely visit the Sala di Dante with wonderful frescos ( visited by Dante in 1300).
