The museum was well worth our visit. It has a good collection of regional Etruscan material culture. Although the collection is dominated by the large number of funerary urns, there were enough other objects to hold our interest. Two highlights of the collection on display are the statue "The Shadow of the Evening" and the Urn of the Married Couple. Both must are must see. Exhibit signage is minimal and only in Italian. Using the audio tour was a must for us. The experience offered only a basic understanding of Etruscan history and culture. The museum's shop had few, if any, titles in English which was a bit disappointing. Otherwise, the museum is worth a visit.

Not the first museum in the area that has some nice stuff on diplay. But many have not more then an Italian explaination. Same in Volterra Etruscan museum. Why ??

Volterra is another nice city, it's from the same old San Gimignano period and, at that time probably Volterra was more interesting because close to the seaside; the museum is interesting to see because most of our villages like Volterra, San Gimingnano etc. are from Etruschi Period

Not the largest of museums, but that only adds to the charm of this wonderful collection of antiquities.
