We spent five days at Agriturismo Marciano at the end of a six week tour of Europe and could not hav been happier with our stay. After six weeks on the road it was wonderful to be embraced like family by Nadia and Renato who made us feel more like long lost relatives than guests at a B&B. The villa is a very authentic tuscan villa located on an award winning winery. Rooms are basic, very clean, comfortable beds. Breakfast is a classic continental breakfast of cereals and pastries - with delicious home cooked pastries gracing the table each morning.
The evening meal is where Agriturismo Marciano really shines. We had the opportunity to eat at the villa on threee occassions. The first we had bought some fresh meats, cheese and breads from the local market and we invited to join the evening meal with Renato, Nadia, Christian and Augusto. Lots of lovely wines from white to red, desert wines and even home brewed limoncello. The other meals were a set menu involving a 5 course traditional Tuscan feast with matching wines - not to be missed if you are lucky enough to stay here.
Most of the other guests were driving however we were content to lay about in Siena and the villa so took a cab into town each day at a cost of 10 euros. Overall Agriturismo Marciano certainly lived up the lofty expectations we had after ready the many great reviews of this B&B. If you are interested in a genuine tuscan experience, look no further than Agriturismo Marciano.
