this hotel is worth it just for the dinner - the hotel owner cooked one of the best meals we had during our 10 day trip in Italy. also, it's in a good location, right outside Siena (approx. 45 min walk into the historic area or a very easy drive). bathroom could've been a little bigger.

I was in Italy for several days and stayed at several places, Agriturismo Marciano was my favorite place.

Nadia, one of the owners, prepared dinner for us on our first night. She set the bar very high. There were several courses along w/wine and everything was delicious. They were so gracious and we were up long after she and her husband had gone to bed. They didn't even say anything about us having to go or that they needed some rest.

The breakfast each morning was so appealing: fresh baked croissants and other pasties along w/fruit, juice, coffee and so much more.

The atmosphere at the B&B is serene and relaxing. The views surrounding the farm are breathtaking. You could take a walk or sit at various locations around the farm.

Nadia and her staff were quite resourceful. Each time we left, we told her where we were going and she'd recommend a restaurant. Each of those recommendations were outstanding.

It was easy to get a taxi to get around town and the cost was reasonable.

Finally the lodging was clean and comfortable. There was a fireplace in our room that kept it nice and cozy. There were also plenty of blankets. There's even a heater in the shower.

We stayed for three nights at Agriturismo Marciano while on our honeymoon and had a wonderful stay.

We only had dinner there one night, but if we had been able to, we would have eaten there every night. There were four generous courses plus cheese with honey, and each course was accompanied by the delicious wines from their own vineyard. It was also wonderful to try the excellent olive oil produced on the farm. We thought the meal was excellent value and one of the tastiest we've ever had.

The farm is in a beautiful location and surrounded by vineyards and olive groves and you can see the top the centre of old Siena through the hilltops.

Overall a beautiful farmhouse, excellent food and wines and in a great location.

We stayed for 3 days at the agriturismo. I have read many of the write ups from the same time period and would state the following.

Positives:
The room was a reasonable size, clean and we were comfortable. The view was lovely from our window. There was a closet and a dresser so we were able to make ourselves at home.
Nadia (helper) was delightful and very helpful.
Having a large table to share breakfast with the 12 others who were staying was really beneficiall in meeting fellow travelers and creating an open, sharing atmosphere.
Breakfast was quite good. There was always homemade items as well as yogurts, cereals, etc. ,
The dinner atmosphere was fun though mainly because of the guests. We enjoyed the food as well. The white wine was good; neither of us like red wine so we can't speak to that.
They did have a GPS that you could rent. (I suggest strongly that you bring your own.)
A computer is available for your use (and it is in an area not well lit with no options)

Negatives:
The room was cold. We were in Siena during a cold spell and the heat was seldom on and when it was on it was only for a brief period of time (hour or two). I also didn't have hot water twice when I showered; but my husband did so we aren't sure what this means. No one else complained about this.
We agree that the owners of this agriturismo were not as helpful as we had hoped, there was not the friendliness that you would expect, even when advice was requested it felt like you were putting them out,
Breakfast: Coffee was instant - a turnoff.
Dinner: The owner left after serving each course where it would have been a perfect time to introduce fellow travelers, tell something about the area or a variety of other topics (must be the educator in me). Dinner was expensive but if you are wine drinkers you might not feel this way.
We would agree that you didn't really feel welcome in the living area; couch was taken up by the two men who worked the winery. We felt like we should "go to our room" upon return from our daily outings into the countryside.
Winery: Yes, there is one there and no, no one was offered a tour even though it was requested and a reason why this agriturismo was selected by us.

Agriturismo Marciano was such a wonderful part of my trip. I loved staying on a vineyard, waking up to the Bell's of the Duomo....feeling like I was in the country, but just outside of Siena....a beautiful walk into town. Dinner each night there was delicious...fresh food and delicious wines from their vineyard. Thank you Christan and your family/staff for a wonderful experience....I still am smiling from my trip!
